Space Navigator incompatible with moving vehicles

First, please note I have tried this in a variety of viewers, they all share the same issue.
The space Navigator (SN) and other 'joysticks' have the ability to switch to flycam mode, where the joystick moves the camera but not the avatar. On my SN, clicking the left button decouples the camera from the avatar and moves my POV according to the joystick. Click it again and flycam is disabled,and the joystick controls the avatar.
If I am in a moving vehicle (sitting), doing these 3 step leaves the camera stuck - pinned to one absolute location. I can't change the location with the SN, the camera controls or even using presets. If I stand , I regain the ability but the vehicle continues to move without me, or more often is returned .
In researching this , another avatar tried an Xbox controller on his window PC and saw the same issue. I have tried the Linden Viewer (very latest i was required to load after installing Atlasaurius), the latest Firestorm alpha and the latest available Megapahit.
My colleague with the Xbox controller on Windows, reverted to the last version 6 FS, and it too expressed the bug.
This bug makes sailing and pod exploring using a joystick no fun at all. I imagine flying becomes fatal rather quickly, sailing certainly does.

Not sure this is any help but here is my insight…
I have a SpaceNavigator attached to my Mac and use Firestorm where for general use it operates quite well.
Sailing I can control the sailboat normally with the SN (or keyboard). Using the left SN button to Flycam allows me to cam around while the vehicle sails along normally (controlled by the keyboard if desired). Re-clicking the left-SN button returns me to the usual follow-view with no loss of control or cam freezing. The SN behaves as intended both for camera view and for controlling the Sailboat.
The experience with cars is the same as sailboats, however I am having a separate issue with glitching cam orientation at sim crossings with some cars but this is NOT a SN issue as it happens when it is disconnected as well.
While piloting a helicopter, the SpaceNavigator experience is essentially the same however sometimes the cam will “hold” in place in the follow-view after exiting Flycam mode, but hitting ESC or any other input (keyboard or SN knob) returns full control. This is not new behavior, and in my opinion not a glitch, just how it works with this vehicle; fully controllable & flycam-able, and nothing “fatal”.

So… I could not reproduce your issue. I tried the current (as of today’s date) FS release, beta and alpha. (it has not worked normally in the LL viewer for years so I did not try that).
Do you have the 3DConnexion driver loaded on your machine? My SN will NOT function with the driver loaded but works great (on Firestorm, anyway) with it unloaded.

Korach ResidentOdd, cannot explain this. I don't have the connectix drivers installed, because if I do everything else works but second life viewers. I reported this much earlier in a separate canny bug report.
