Intelligent Avatar Density Limits Based on Parcel Size and Simulator Performance
jackiewallace Resident
Dear Linden Lab Team,
I would like to submit the following feature request regarding simulator performance and region management in Second Life.
Second Life regions can become unstable when extremely high numbers of avatars gather in small areas, especially on parcels that are not designed for large-scale simultaneous usage. Introducing smarter, adaptive avatar density limits based on parcel size, available resources, and real-time simulator performance could help reduce lag, teleport failures, and script overload.
Such a system would improve fairness between different region types while protecting the overall user experience and simulator stability across the grid.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Jackie Wallace

Improved Estate Management Tools for Crowd Control
jackiewallace Resident
Dear Linden Lab Team,
I would like to submit the following feature request regarding simulator performance and region management in Second Life.
Estate owners currently have limited tools to responsibly manage excessive avatar concentration and sudden traffic spikes. Additional management options — such as soft avatar caps, automated performance warnings, temporary entry throttling, or advanced monitoring tools — would help estate managers maintain stable environments without relying entirely on manual intervention.
Better management tools would benefit entertainment venues, residential communities, businesses, and public spaces throughout Second Life.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Jackie Wallace
