Performance Protection for Active Communities and Businesses
jackiewallace Resident
Dear Linden Lab Team,
I would like to submit the following feature request regarding simulator performance and region management in Second Life.
Residents, tenants, educators, roleplay communities, and businesses that actively use regions for legitimate purposes can suffer from poor simulator performance caused by overcrowding or abusive traffic generation nearby.
Additional protections for actively maintained regions would help preserve accessibility, usability, and stability for communities that contribute positively to the Second Life ecosystem and economy.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Jackie Wallace

Your problem here is that some wise guy decided that regions that actually work well with more than a couple of dozen "average" agents should be a super-premium, mega-expensive venture, otherwise known as Event-class regions. They start at $449/month ex tax for the "Event Region Pro" offering.
And they still rubber-band and time-dilate like the simulator is running on a Commodore 64 if you dare actually use them.
I would certainly like to see regions perform better without having to drop literal mortgage repayments on them, however that's not a wholly technical problem and doesn't have a wholly technical solution. Maybe the Lab can offer official advice and support for resident-run events to assist them with making region builds that maximise available resources for incoming agents.
As far as events on the madlands, yeah that will always be a lost cause. Good luck though.

Nice idea, but the devil is in the details. Who decides what is 'legitimate' ? I know for sure, I'd not like to be that person!
As it stands the proposal is too broad. You need, IMO, to create a concrete proposal that draws a line somehow between regions contributing positively and what you label abuusive traffic.
Some cases are seem to be clear, for example, many people think the tiny empires activity should be stopped forthwith. Yet it appears the Lindens do not. Conspiracy theories aside, what commercial considerations might there be , stopping Lindens acting ? `Most of the cases you mention are probably not going to be as clear cut as the 'tiny empires'.
Just some food for thought

Balancing Entertainment Venues, Traffic Systems, and Simulator Health
jackiewallace Resident
Dear Linden Lab Team,
I would like to submit the following feature request regarding simulator performance and region management in Second Life.
Entertainment venues are an important part of Second Life culture, but extremely high avatar concentrations and automated traffic systems can create long-term performance and accessibility issues across the grid.
A better balance between commercial entertainment activity, traffic incentives, and simulator health would improve long-term sustainability while continuing to support social venues, live events, and community activities.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Jackie Wallace
