Allow us to have regions with 10K LI.

PBR has knocked a lot of us out of SL due to unusable frame rates of 4-6fps or worse. The choice to do a cut-over to PBR with no backwards comparability option available for people with older computers was clearly a mistake. If Phillip Linden needed to personally email us all to test the new viewer version it means we lost a lot of Residents. By the way, the new viewer Phillip asked us to try is still giving the unplayable 6fps for me. Secondlife is NOT Fortnite; Our residents are not hardcore Gamers with the latest hardware. Secondlife was the game that until recently was still playable on 20 year old graphics hardware, which helps greatly with player retention. Lets not lose that inclusiveness! The SL Viewer has always been able to turn off features that are overly taxing for people's computers and should retain that functionality going forward, even if it means we need to include two graphics engines for a few years while people upgrade.

I think Second Life for the first time ever has the opportunity of offering excellent performance to the mainstream with the incredible performance advancements of Apple Silicon. SL already works quite well on low-end M1 Macs, so I cannot imagine how much things could improve if it is supported natively.

Add a maximum FPS setting for users who which to throttle how often Second Life updates. This is particularly important for users with high refresh rate monitors, where even with vsync enabled SL will run 145 fps+. This is important as SL currently uses as much GPU resources as it can, turning computers into toasters.

Having regions stuck in a crashed state for 15+ hours due to the lack of support and inadequate tools to address such problems is unacceptable. This is a common occurrence, and as I write this, one of my regions is experiencing this very issue. As a 20-year veteran of Second Life, I remember when Concierge support was available 24/7. We still need that level of support or the tools to handle these issues ourselves. Landowners like myself spend tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars per month on our regions. This level of support neglect is detrimental and will ultimately hurt Linden Lab financially. Cutting support for your backbone is not a sustainable strategy. Even implementing a dedicated "Region Offline" 24/7 ticket handler to quickly bring downed or crashed regions back online after support hours would be a step in the right direction Please reconsider and restore the necessary support to ensure the success and satisfaction of your loyal customers.

As recent upgrades on the go are focusing on getting a better performance, Jpeg XL would make better quality smaller size files (quicker to load). It outperforms all other image formats in terms of image quality and compression ratio (in both the lossless and lossy modes), and many other factors. With 2k textures out in the wild, and BoM 2k support coming soon; I thought it might be nice to have the option to limit 2k textures independently of the global viewer setting for 1024 and 512. This feature would allow users to limit the maximum texture size displayed on other avatars independently of their own avatar. It could be expanded to display friends in 2k as well, should the user enable it. This would function similarly to Firestorms "Show Friends Only" feature. Instead of derendering everyone and dooming the user to bump into others aimlessly, it would simply reduce their impact on your network connection and viewer. As we all know, everyone likes being the main character (myself included), we need more tools to control for everyone dressing to the nines.

The new PBR thats on fs 7.1 has totally ruined the performance, textures don't load, fps drops to below 10 from nearly 70. Avatars and surrounds look horrid. Movements are jerky if one can move at all.

Second Life is massive, and with the way trains, planes and boats all get stuck when crossing regions, we live in 2024 and if FFXIV can allow travel across multiple continents with its higher fidelity on mount, so should Second Life.

the semi-transparent skirt makes the panties invisible, this has been happening for a very long time, if you make a mesh transparent by applying a slight degree of transparency, unfortunately the mesh underneath, although completely opaque, becomes invisible, to make it reappear under the semi-transparent mesh you need to make the latter completely invisible or even remove it from the avatar and then make it reappear, is it possible to fix this?
