It would be amazing to be able to block a store's content from showing in Marketplace. Instead of adding a store as a favorite you could click to add store to a blocked list and then their content would no longer show in your search results.

So going into this, I want to disclaim that I myself am not against AI. I personally have used it before, and will do so in the future. A specific chat AI helps me regularly with solving problems. However, I am against people intentionally misleading people about content, and polluting search results with content made in mere seconds, and find it no different than spam. If I made something that randomly generated randomly colored squares on a white canvas, and listed it a dozen or so times, it'd be seen as spam. Additionally, this issue was brought up in the SL Discord marketplace chat. I've moved it here so that it can get more recognition and visibility to LL. Personally, I believe that a policy worded like so would benefit everyone in the long run (canny has messed up some formatting here, so it looks like it has no line breaks, these have been substituted with "---" for readability) Content that is the sole generation of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or otherwise Generative Content, except in the cases where the generator was written for the sole purpose of generating a specific element, may not be listed on the Marketplace as-is or as the focal point of the content that is listed. --- AI images must never be used to generate listing images, and must be presented as the content appears in SL. Overlays, such as permission information, price, branding labels, or sales labels, are permitted as much so as they do not mis-represent the content that is being advertised. --- Examples of forbidden listings: * In singular or collection, AI generated content as a texture, image, mesh, sound or other type of asset, as the sole content being listed. * A AI generated image in a picture frame. * A museum prefab filled with AI generated images as a "ready to go" model. * A object that plays randomly generated AI voice clips. * Attempting to pass off or mislead people that AI generated content as original, hand crafted content. * A listing which shows a AI enhanced product preview. --- Examples of allowed listings: * A house that has a AI generated poster in it, where the poster is not the selling point of the house. * A museum model that has some AI generated images, or is focused on the topic of AI generated content. * A NPC, that among other features, plays AI generated voice clips. * A model that has AI generated textures, where the model is not AI generated. --- Listings that make use of 50% or more in it's creation must be clearly labeled as using AI generation or assistance in the listing description. Interpretation of what counts as "50% or more is" left solely to Linden Lab. Listings that use AI but under the 50% threshold are recommended, but not required, to disclose that AI is used in some capacity. In summary, it forbids listing of content on the marketplace, free or for sale, that is entirely AI generated, requires disclosure of AI generated content when AI does a majority of the work, and guards against some loopholes. This probably (as in, very likely. I feel this is implied, but just in case) isn't needed, but: Because this will probably get passed by the lawyers, I hereby grant all permission to Linden Lab to use or transform the above work in any way, without attribution or compensation. Linden Lab has the opportunity to deal with this now before it gets too out of control. Only a handful of residents would be in violation of this policy. This also only applies to marketplace stuff, not in-world content.

I'd like to see a creation date of items shown in the marketplace and the ability to search by year created.

As the title suggests I'd love an ability to hide/block certain creators and their items from showing in my search/feed. I don't wanna see poopy butts, diapers, pissplay or whatever its called, animal genitalia. Don't wanna see children oriented items and their stores. Sometimes i wish i can filter out a creator that spammed 4-5 pages of the same item just different colors when looking for something new. I wish when searching for "Butt tattoo" i could block an item/store that showed me the entire lowerbody of a human being covered in excrement. Please for the love of God consider that quality of life change.

The marketplace has a growing, serious problem with this deceptive listing practice, with stores adding ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ to their store name to imply that an item being shown in a search result is actually rated 5-stars, even when it is not. The number of stores engaging in this practice is shockingly large, with 'brands I've heard of' already doing it. Many creators rely on a completely separate listing for a different color, pack (fatpack, browns, blacks, etc.). This makes searching for clothes, hairs, etc. much more difficult as many of the search results are a variation of the same item. I’d also like to see existing color and variation listings automatically merged into a single listing. This would help reduce clutter in search results and make it easier to find the right product. These could be underneath the product pictures in a horizontal list of thumbnails that includes the color/variation name, and that variants price.

Yesterday I got a message from someone in SL to check https://feedback.secondlife.com/web-features/p/limited-quantities-not-showing-in-search because I was mentioned there. Last year in August I started a petition for a Marketplace fix because my store was burried under +600 Fapple 4 years old gacha items by gacha resellers. II initiated the petition because, following a survey, it became evident that many people were unaware of the option to check the box 'Do not see Limited Quantities and my numerous tickets got 0 attention. I stopped making and selling gacha 4 years ago, after illigaly copied full sets of my gachas were selling on the marketplace, copied with an unfixable restart sim glitch that persists to this day. That Marketplace Store sold more gachas than the actual stores he copied. Moreover, I often receive messages regarding listings that are scams, such as empty boxes or non-rare items labeled as rare, thinking I am the customer service for those items, which understandably dampens the experience. Do I want gachas gone? No, everyone is free to do as they like, and I think they should be as searchable as any other product. What I asked help for is, if people look for my store they would at least see an original product on the first page. Should the Search term 'Fapple' bring up (today) 198 reseller 4 year old Fapple items before the new items I make and my actual store? As the sole creator of those items, the one who makes the meshes and textures from scratch, pays for the uploads, pays for the software I use to make those items in (Photoshop and Maya), I wanted to at least see my store pop up for people who look for it. Did I have great sales in the MP this week because suddenly the Limited Quantities box was unchecked? Of course not, there is more wrong with our Marketplace than just that. I'm very lucky with the support of my loyal in-world customers, who I rely on for sales. I ask for your grace. I initiated this petition in 2023 not to cause harm or exclude anyone, I wanted help with my and many other original creators issue. The recent changes to the Marketplace likely have no correlation with my petition from nine months ago. It's unacceptable to slander my name online or send hate messages in-world. Marketplace images are limited to 700x525 pixels. This really needs to be increased so we can actually see what we're buying.

There is no Dinkie category, so when we post our items on MP we have to use regular category for human sized clothes. It would be easier and less confusion on 'where' to post our items if we actually had a 'Dinkie' category to post them under. Thanks!

I think it would be a huge help if the Marketplace had a scheduled sale feature. Something where we could choose specific items, categories, or even our whole store, set a discount, and pick the start and end dates so the sale runs on its own. No more going through each product and editing them one by one, which takes forever. It would be great if we could set either a percentage off or a fixed sale price. Once the sale is active, the discounted items could even show up in a special Sale tab so shoppers can find them all in one place. With Black Friday coming up soon, this feels like the perfect time for a feature like this. It would save creators a lot of time and make running seasonal or limited-time sales much easier. I think sales should have a required start and end date, with a reasonable limit of around 5 Weeks to keep people from abusing the sale feature. I really think this would be a win for both creators and shoppers. If anyone else would love to see this added or have additional ideas to add on this topic please do!
