Weird! In my case, after some hiccups with Brave (Chromium-based and full of all sorts of protections and filters and whatnot) on the Mac, Firefox had absolutely smooth, flawless performance.
Granted, both Edge or Safari also work without issues, and I'm sure other Chromium-based browsers will have no issues (Safari on iOS works quite well!).
And note that even with the 'heavy-duty' protection levels of Brave I
can
use it fairly well there. It was just my first
experience that stumbled upon some of the blocks and protections; opening exceptions for Zero, well, even Brave has no issue with it.Note:
The smooth performance I got with Firefox (compared to, say, Brave) might
be very easily explained by one simple fact: I have so many open tabs on several windows that Brave has a lot
to do (sometimes I may have some 100 tabs open; 75-80 is the usual...). Firefox, by contrast, is what I use in an emergency when Brave is overwhelmed :)Your case might be exactly the opposite: using Firefox as your 'primary' browser. And that would explain why you have no issues with Edge, which
might
have a much 'cleaner' environment to work with. I'm just speculating; in my case, I sort of have all 'essential' plugins working across all browsers (except for Safari, which has a much more limited number), but I would nevertheless consider Brave to have more than all the others together :)
