[Feature Request] Ability to dynamically add text to the backstory

The ability to provide a detailed backstory provides richness to a character and I love how mine gets creative with what she knows...even when she totally makes stuff up :D
To keep her up to date in ongoing roleplay, I frequently provide minor updates to her backstory which she soon takes into account. I once heard that we could provide an external link in the backstory that could be incorporated. This sounded like the perfect solution. However, I haven't found that documented anywhere and after having tried to do just that several times, feel quite comfortable in saying that does not work..not for me, anyway.
Assuming that this is not currently implemented, please consider providing this ability. Any text added to the backstory from an external page would (of course) still count toward the 10,000 character limit but it would permit dynamic additions to the backstory during continuing roleplay without manual attention by me. The 'basics' of the character should always be present in the backstory form so that if a connection to the external page failed or was simply empty, nothing would lost except new information that might have added addition context to current events known by the character.

I am all for this feature. Sadly the so called 10000 character limit is a big lie. The limit is closer to 2000 characters. If you try to even save a character prompt bigger than this it won't save. Sadly the Character Designer is really janky at this point and full of bugs, and I am not even sure if LL is still working on it. LL is famous for starting projects and abandoning them or taking years to do much with them. There has been no updates for awhile and have heard nothing from LL about Character Designer since their AI townhall meeting. Might be sadly that LL decided to listen to all the vocal ignorant AI doom and gloomers.

Arrow SpiritWeaver Check to be sure that you haven't placed any quotation marks in the character's profile. The system will not save if you have those anywhere in it. My character's profile is currently at 9935, and saves with no problems. Just check for those quotes.

Kuva Nishi thanks for letting me know about that. Likely that is the issue then. I am sure I used some quotes in the prompts at times. They really need to give us some instructions about what works and what does not.

I believe this may be possible in the future. Darcy had commented that they were working on an API, and that might allow for LSL scripting to update the backstory.

This might open up all kinds of security risks via PHP injection, though. Already now LL runs a tight ship which kind of characters can and can't be put in that field...
