Unable to Create AI Companion – “Error Creating Character”

My Premium Plus account is active and has open Companion slots
• The destination parcel is owned by me and allows scripted agents
• I have tested this on multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox) and incognito mode
• I have attempted using shortened bios, simple placeholder companions, and different models (GPT-4o, GPT-3.5, LLaMA)
• I have removed any special characters (em-dashes, smart quotes) from all fields
• The error occurs at the final step, after hitting Save—no redirect, just a red bar with “Error creating character”
I’ve also tried temporarily placing the Companion in a sandbox region that allows scripted agents. Still the same error.
I spoke with a support rep who confirmed there were no blocks on my account but could not identify the issue.

I’m still unable to even make one character! 🤦🏻♀️ No idea what else to try!

My girlfriend found a workaround for this problem. She made a copy of an existing character, and in the account settings (the gear) for that copied character profile, she changed the character's login information to the new alt that she wanted to use instead. It accepted it and she was able to log in with the new character. All that was left was to go in and re-write the copied profile to fit the new character.

I was just about to make a updated post to find out if others are having the same problem "Error
Error creating of character".
I only saw this old post from February that you may have seen, (https://feedback.secondlife.com/character-designer/p/error-creating-character), not sure if that was solved, but may be a bug and a Linden has to check our accounts by posting here, I guess.
For me, it has been a few days of waiting to see if it will somehow fix itself.. and trying similar troubleshooting steps as you. I only have 4 profile slots of 20 used that I'm told premium plus can use. Never used more than 5. I deleted my 5th and now can't make it again.

angelexe Resident Did you also delete an AI character? It seems to be the event that has triggered both other cases (+ all three of you seem to have premium plus accounts).

Estelle Pienaar Oh wow. Yes, I recently deleted the first profile that I had since the program started because it seemed broken. It wouldn't speak in nearby, but all the new profiles do.
And I still cannot create another ai character profile. Tried right now.. just to update again when a Linden reads this.
