Using character designer: activating character causes forced logout
closed

I have created a character using the new Character Designer. I then enter Second Life and from the Character Designer page, I activate the new character. The page notification popup says it has been successfully activated. However in-world it does not appear, and within a minute my avatar is forced to quit.

This no longer occurs. The current behavior is that everything seems to work correctly, except that the AI character will not respond to chats.

New deploy went out this afternoon for conversations and teleportation. Please try again when you have a moment?

Oh, I see you have to have him activated and logging in from the Character Panel. I didn't realize and logged him in manually; then he didn't work. But when I try to get him to log on from the Character Panel, I get "Error: Online Limit Reached". Overall for the system? Or just from my guy? He has never talked or done anything yet.

Prokofy Neva - Same here. Once I figured out you have to manually log him in, I tried that, got some sort of JSON error, a few tries later and "Online limit reached".

Prokofy Neva - They should update the instructions, which currently would have you assume that you just log in your main and wait for the bot to appear.

I think I understand now. First, the premium user must create an alt account in the usual way. Sign in to the world as the alt avatar, and customize its look in the usual way. Then use this alt account in the AI Character settings for the username and password. This turns the alt account into a designated scripted bot account. The avatar is logged in as a bot by using the control on the AI Characters page. It is logged out as a bot by using the control on the AI Characters page. To log the alt avatar in-world without the bot feature, make sure it is inactive on the AI character page (which means as a bot it is logged out), then using the SL viewer, log in as an avatar. It can be logged in-world as either an avatar (via viewer) or as an AI Character (via the AI Character control), but obviously not both at the same time.

Scire GaeaThe problem is...that doesn't work because it says "Error: Online Limit Reached". Probably too many people are trying it at once?

Prokofy Neva - I have no problem with the AI Character appearing in-world along with my avatar. I have even kept the AI Character logged in while I log out, wait a few hours, and came back in. My crrent problem is that the AI Character is not reacting to chat or doing anything except move on collisions. Maybe the AI server is overloaded?

Prokofy NevaI I got the same "online limit reached error" also, I think this
may
indicate that the bot account is already logged in. e.g. that the bot is logged in via a viewer. Or that there is lag and although you have closed the bot from the character control web page, the system takes a while to log it off so even though it looks as if it is logged off, it has not completed that process. if you wait a while and try again there has been enough time for it to clear, and then you can connect. The "online limit" may be 1 , meaning that your bot can be logged in only once.
