Linden (home) Studio's for designers

Just an idea, but I noticed many designer's would love to have a Linden Home in the form of a studio, so that will be a place where they can design and create stuff. Like for example we have the Linden Homes, but you could also offer a Linden Studio for designers. So they have an open space/room to work in, and not so many rooms or floors as they have now.

Great idea Maythe! I’d definitely use it if we had one! Especially with the chance to chat and exchange ideas. I love it :D

I’ve read your posts, and I think it would be great for Premium Plus members to have an LL house/studio with the same terms as the new Ridgewood Enclave Commercial Districts. There are many empty houses in Bellisseria; they could be repurposed as studios and/or workshops. Purchases would be made at 0 Linden dollars with no taxes, just like in the Ridgewood commercial area, and the extra square footage wouldn’t affect your current land parcel where your house is located.

So it seems my point, which used to be the Lab's point since the beginning, that Linden Homes regions are strictly for homes, has just been rendered moot.
So now I upvoted this, if the strict home theme is broken by the Lab, it might be time to come up with all kinds of non-home themes to make Bellisseria more interesting.

Artist Commune regions sounds great to me!

Hello Maythe! Several Linden Homes themes do offer open-floorplan options for your house. You may wish to explore the Chalets in particular for this.
However, these neighborhoods are primarily designed as homes. You are certainly welcome to design the interior space as a studio, or place a skybox at 2000m or more above your parcel to use for uploading small builds.

Oatmeal Linden is true, but it's just an idea to separate them from residential areas ;-) so if there is a special place for designers, so that they can rent a Linden studio there and thus sit together, work-related, that's a win-win for all parties ;-)

This is a good idea. When I had Linden homes, the last one was a houseboat. I also had a shop in Bay City, and the fourth floor was a large loft that I designed myself using Blender. But now I live in Blake Sea in a modern house, the first floor of which is my lab and photography studio, with large windows, which I also designed myself.

AS an artist with a studio in my home (or previous homes where I simply attached a suitable studio styled out-building to my main residence, I think this is a good idea but ...
There are dozens of suitable residential and commercial live/work styled buildings from really great designers that have open spaces for studios (Scarlet, Trompe, etc) that setting up studio spaces for painting or sculpture or other visual arts are already available.
Unless you need to live on LL owned places like Bellesaria, in that case this is still a good idea.

I upvote your proposal. It could be an opportunity to create a sort of "artists' neighborhood" where avatars with different visions could meet and influence each other.
Maythe Andel
Andabata Thor this is exactly what I mean, create a place where these design studios are located and where you can sit together as a designer, not in a residential area, but more like a work area ;-)

I can see the advantage of such a place over the mainland as you would have a nice view plus the protection of the covenant. With the options for house styles now you might find some of them are open-plan enough. The question otherwise would be what kind of theme might be created where the houses are in fact studios, with only one or two large rooms, and plenty of windows? It would be really interesting to see a whole community of creatives in such a place, with perhaps a central area for installations, events, and so on. That would require a lot of co-operation, of course, but it's not impossible.
Maythe Andel
Garnet Psaltery you go even further with your idea, but the idea of a place where creatives can rent their own studio, not in a residential area, but a work area, would be my preference. I would prefer to leave events as they are now arranged. For me, it's exactly about creating a work area with studios.

Garnet PsalteryAs I mentioned as a former resident of Bellisseria (I now have my own little island in Blake Sea), it’s true that there are many modern houses that could serve as artist studios, but if I take one, the square footage I have available for free as a Premium Plus member would increase, and I’d then have to pay taxes. So please read my post about my idea to propose to LL for reclaiming the many empty houses.

deplove Resident I looked at your idea, and struggled to see how this would work. What you're asking for is free residential land.
Alwin Alcott
so just land ... eh.. they have that already, claim a mainland plot.. 4096 meters of hight might be ok?
Maythe Andel
Alwin Alcott, the point is that designers are now mostly in a residential area, in a house, where the walls are low and have limited space. So studios, with higher walls/windows, and in a work area, is the idea.
