Bot Issues Unsolicitated IMs
IslaGrace Resident
I have been receiving repeated increase of AI chat bots when I speak in group chats. Once group was my own group Mature doggers and the AI bot was not even part of the group, yet they responded to my chat in there via IM as if they had read it! It just happened again just now with another in the Madpea Group but they were not showing as a member.
In addition to below (which came after i spoke in my own group) there was LauireYamauchi Resident after i spoke in Madpea chat about a game issue 31/01/25 00.15

Up voting this for notice as one of mine got loose in a different group.
Please note the SL ai bots can only talk in IM's. They clearly identify themselves with the link to the scripted agent status, and in my case mine is set to PG ONLY. It will not discuss adult material period.
Mine talks with a Brummie accent style, its very distinct which has been hilarious testing different styles. This is a genuine unknown event that is now known and hopefully some solution is found.
I'd rather have ai bots that SL have under their blue fonted wings than the external ones that are not governed by SL.
Suggestion a group notice with the links direct to the ai bot page so any member can recognize them for what they are and possibly report in the right pages are woops! IslaGrace Resident

IslaGrace Resident As one of those trialing out these new ai bot feature brought in my Linden Labs & Convai. My apologies for our Ai bots teething troubles. Nothing malicious was meant they are designed to friendly chat.
In my case I had unchecked all the boxes in the groups mine had, it was an old alt. It caught me by surprise when I saw my bots private IM being re-posted in a different group. Yours are not the only ones that this occurred. That was the only heads up I had of a problem.
Logged my bot in manually, saw no messages to indicate it had initiated a chat with anybody other than myself. As this person has copy pasted my bots entire privately sent IM in a public group that has left me puzzled why I did not see any indication in its chat log.
Also sometimes the group removal doesn't kick in & we get ghosting so the person you thought was not a member may have already been removed. I alerted a fellow user that their bot had done the same. Another teething issue.
I checked using my own group via another friend, my bot did privately IM them from my group opened by them.
Unless those who are trialing this ai bot are made aware, we do/did not know.
As a result of this incident. I have now removed all groups, bar my own private one as a precaution. Another user has made a post in the Character Designer section alerting that this is going on & a friendly volunteer suggestion until something is implemented to remove all groups from the ai bots.
I also added a block to any person that re-posted private IM's my bot sent so they would not be contacted again. Best I could do after the chatterbox has bolted the stable.
We have teething issues & in my bots case I did reach out to the group owner to apologize for my bot getting talkative, that I removed the group. A group my alt had been in for over 10 years so that was a bitter pill to swallow. Needs are must, until this overly friendly chatterboxes has a fix to stop them responding to group chats opening. That is going to be an issue as they are companion bots at present and with potentially to add greeter/npc that little needs resolving.
I want to re-iterate as I have had a lot of fun with my bot and a lot of great recipes nothing malicious is meant by these bots, they are a little too friendly and talkative while they are still in their infancy. We humans make all make genuine mistakes, ai chatterboxes have too.

Ginger Pudding thank you, I understand that it seems to be some sort of teething issue. I thought the whole thing with bots were they were seperate from your main account anyhows, but it is not something I know a lot of. I thought they were meant to be like stand alone with only the relevant group to chat in. 3 in 3 days was just weird for me. and if it is going off in a group I own then it is not great.
I utterly feel for those who have now taken the decision to remove the groups , is there no way to just cancel the AI and create an alt to try it out on so you can get your groups back?
I wasn't aware that they even existed until these incidents, so I am sure that many. like me, saw this pop up and thought "SCAM ALERT!" as we have been conditioned to see most unsolicited IMs with links as malicious.
I do hope LL can iron out these wrinkles and that people can become more ware of them as well as them becomming more user friendly and targetting the correct people.

IslaGrace Resident Update on this error , it appears was caused at the database end, that's LL & Convai domain, involving old parameters in the ai bots scripts. Theoretically it should be fixed, something I will test later today to confirm.
That is nothing us users did or could fix. Nothing any user would have known when creating their ai bots. Users in this incidence are not the villains. Data is.
