Block store on Marketplace

It would be amazing to be able to block a store's content from showing in Marketplace. Instead of adding a store as a favorite you could click to add store to a blocked list and then their content would no longer show in your search results.

Add a 'blacklist' option to Marketplace
Ikaros Alpha
Just as we have a list of favorite stores, I would like to have a blacklist I can add a shop to, and never see any stores on my blacklist appear in search results.
For example:
I have found out the owner left SL years ago and there is no support for their products anylonger.
I have had a bad shopping experience that was not resolved. The owner was banned from my land.
The shop was reported for copybotting several times by original creators.Tahiti Rae
I would like this feature because there are some stores that post about 8 or 10 pages in a row of products I'm not interested in. They come up in a specific MP search that I can't further modify to remove that one store from. So I had to wade through 10 pages of their stuff before I can even see my search results. I don't mind the old stores, I always sort newest at top.

For the life of me, I don't know why LL keeps old defunct stores on the MP. I understand why, and that's money. LL earns a commission on every item sold. But things sold by defunct stores is still competition from new ones, and new avatars. New avatars means more business, new ideas, and new updates products. Make a new class of membership- a Market Place membership. The fee should be very nominal, say $2 a month, but when a member dies and his estate closes his bank accounts, the $2 goes delinquent and the store would be gone, leaving each merchant's slice of the pie a tiny bit bigger.

Cooter Coorara I get this, but I also love that I can still buy items on MP from old friends who have since died in RL

Beth Ghostraven Me too, Beth (and I wouldn't blacklist them) but I often wonder where revenues go: to someone who took over an account silently or to LL? It's not easy to get hold of an account legally here and an official last will can be very expensive. Or there may have been no time to draft one.

Beth Ghostraven I understand, but also consider the greater good. We builders in SL pay to play. We have not only the expenses of building to pay for, but inworld stores and shows to support. We offer support to our customers, We advertise, often by attending shows to promote our wares, and those are very expensive. Yet we have to compete on the MP with dead people who pay nothing.
As a small businessman in RL, I had to compete head to head with Walmart and Staples. Thankfully the residents of the county I lived in knew how important it was to support and buy local. We lived in their community, supported the little league, and contributed when someone's house burned down. We were a vital part of the community. If folks only shopped big box stores, who would support the community? Not the big box boys.
We undead builders and merchants are an active part of the SL community. We're learning the latest techniques and using the newest materials. The prim houses I built once upon a time are nothing like the mesh PBR houses I can build today. Looking at product pages on the MP it is often difficult to tell the difference between products without seeing, so we pay rent or tier so that customers can "see item in Second Life".
The shows I attend are usually fund raisers. The builders and vendors with displays at the recent SL Christmas Expo raised money for the Cancer Society, for example. Besides being a fun event to attend, it was rewarding to be a merchant, and even knowing that I wasn't going to sell a single Victorian home like the one I had on display, I didn't attend the show to sell homes. I did it because, like everyone, cancer has touched my life. We all needed to support the cancer society.
Dead builders have none of the expenses present day builders do, nor take part in events. If you were able to ask a deceased merchant about this topic, I believe most would tell you that they are flattered that you still want to buy their products, but also that you need to support the SL community and "buy local".

Ability to Hide Stores as a filter in MP.
Loni Onyx
There are so many times I am searching through MP and seeing Stores that I do not care to ever shop at. I often wish for a way to filter out the stores so my shopping experience can be smoother. Also the filter for do not show demos doesn't work. Needs updating.

Competition & Antitrust Law, platforms must avoid anti-competitive behavior. If a marketplace deliberately “hides” or buries a seller’s items without a valid reason (like ToS violations), it is abuse of market power. It is illegal. The marketplace should not enable this. End of story.
Kindcore Resident
Gaellani Resident not what this is proposing. This is user based, not platform based. It is up to the user to select or not select who they wish to purchase from.

I'd much rather have LL actually fix the fucking store so that OUTFIT COLORS are all grouped as a single listing and other ways creators fill the space with meaningless junk, but since they are unable to do that, I'd be happy to be able to block stores...

To be fair.. that's kind of a user made problem when they could just sell those colors together as one product.

Cackle AmoreIt's a user made problem yes, but it is also intentional as it pads the number of visible products and gives people a plausible excuse for doing it. Don't attribute to stupidity what can be explained by marketing~

If I block someone, I don't want to see their store. If someone blocks me, I don't want to see their store. If they post things I have zero interest in buying (and will not ever feel any differently) I don't want to see their store.
I personally don't block or get blocked very often, so I'm personally more affected by my searches growing increasingly cluttered with stuff I just REALLY do not want to see and will NEVER have the want to buy. However, I think this would also be beneficial to people who have been blocked by a store owner, or people who have blocked a store owner, and therefor don't want to see their stuff when they're looking to buy.
We have a favourite stores function. It makes no sense for us to not also have a blocked store option so we don't have to see what we don't want to see. Simple as.

We need dis more den ever!

This is a great idea, some stores spam the marketplace with low quality items, especially with generative ai, making it unusable.
I think its in LLs interest that people are able to find things they actually want, and can spend money in their ecosystem.
