Add a "Search by -Name of a mesh body-" function on the MarketPlace

As time goes by, there are more and more different body meshes, and creators offer more and more content for it, but not necessarily for all bodies every time, or they also don't update their old models every time a new mesh body is released.
To promote visibility and make browsing on the marketplace more pleasant and easier, it would be very useful to add a "show only -BodyMesh Name-" option for the clothing and accessories categories.
To make it clear, while creating their product listing, Creators could just click on the different buttons corresponding to the bodies already added to their products in a pre-defined list instead of writing everything in the description of their item.
I think this would really make life easier for both creators and customers!

Marketplace feature request sort by body type checkboxes

It would be nice to be able to have a checkboxes of the top body brands so you can easily sort by the type of body you have when shopping for clothing. For instance you might want to only see things that will fit Maitreya. Amazon has this option for popular brands.

While I like the idea, it would put extra work on LL to keep the list up-to-date. As RedHighHeels said, just use the name of your body as a search term.

Alex I type the body type in the search bar, select the category I want, i.e., apparel and go from there. It’s not perfect but it helps.

XXRedHighHeelsXX Resident While I also do this, I find the nasty, ugly limit is if you include more than two words in Search the MP's engine goes haywire and throws you everything from soup to nuts above and beyond what you asked for (which it then also promptly ignores). Not to put too fine a point on it, the MPs search engine is so horrible I'm amazed it functions at all, as more than two words makes it shit the bed hard. This is exacerbated drastically by tag spam / false tagging, an epidemic that badly needs to be cracked down upon. Whilst I rarely am one for harsh measures, this may be a rare time such is needed (the tag spam issue, note, not the search issue, which needs a more nuanced hand).

Rheia Silvercloud If you use the Boolean search functions (“AND” “OR” “NOT”) with your keywords it works much better. I have been able to use it to filter out a very large number of creators who spam the “furry” tag in specific. I recommend for at least a temporary solution to figure out what works best for you with the Boolean search (so you’d do “ebody OR reborn AND skirt” for one example.) Hope this helps at least a bit.
Rheia Silvercloud
Unicorn Enchantment It does significantly, though on the long term there should be better functionality plugged into the search engine itself so it can infer these things, as many (though of course not all) modern search engines do.

Rheia Silvercloudoh absolutely I agree 100%! It’s a huge pain and I hate having to constantly adjust keywords (I filter out so much I bookmarked the search) I would love to have much better functionality than having to use the Boolean.

If a creator wants to sell a product for a particular body, they SHOULD list it. It is unbelievably inefficient to have to search thousands of products without being able to filter by body, which is THE single most important search parameter. Creators can of course refuse, but then they won't be selling to that body system. It cannot be true that people have to wade through tons of incompatible items, one by one, to find the ones that match. Either that or introduce a free-text search option, to end this massive database blunder.

This would require creators to update every listing to show what mesh bodies are supported. For the big creators that would be a ton of work added to their plates. I imagine some creators would say "hell no" to that.

Nanci Barthelmess Agreed. But if it could be done for future entries it would still be quite helpful.

Issue tracked. We have no estimate when it may be implemented. Please see future updates here.

That'd be very useful.

A drop down menu option for listings would work. Just add w/e bodies your item is for.
