i have a rigged t-shirt, with duplicated faces for decal textures. these decals are separate object (link) from the t-shirt, a microscopic distance away from the surface.
when i put an alpha texture on the decal, while the shirt is on the ground, all is well. but when i wear it, some blotches appear in the transparent areas of the texture. this is while

additionally, there is a halo around the edge of the opaque part of the texture. in the example image, the purple (and black) edges around the bottom of the butterfly wings are actually my skin showing through the underlying shirt. (which has NO alpha. and i set it to none, too.)
also: i'm wearing a rigged mesh avatar, using BOM skin, with an alpha layer 'tattoo' on the universal layer. it is using BAKED_UPPER.
