Error 153 when using Youtube embed code

When playing Youtube videos in world using shared media the message "Error 153 Video player configuration error" is displayed. This only happens when the url uses the embed format primarily meant for webpages with embedded videos:
Instead of the normal link format:
This is often routinely done in Second Life so the video displays automatically at full screen without the side bars, description, comments, etc taking up most of the screen and giving a more immersive experience. It also skips ads and that seems to be the problem. Youtube has made changes requiring the proper HTTP referer header and producing the Error 153 if it doesn't receive it.
One work around seems to be to toggle the play/pause button for media in the SLviewer until it plays normally.
Can you please find a way to make Youtube happy (or at least happy enough) so we can use their embed code without it getting kicked back with this error?

Has you experimented with Flickr as a video source? There's a LOT of video in there, but I don't know enough about inworld display to do a proper test myself.
