ExtraFPS viewer Crashes using "Replace Current Outfit" to attach KittyCats Avatar

Attach a Cat Avatar to your present avatar of any kind, by left clicking on the cat you wish to attach to your avatar, using interactive KittyCats Menu. You must be the owner of the KittyCat
Click Interact
Click Cat Avatar
Click Continue
A message box pops up saying it formed a folder called "KittyCats Avatar (right click & select "Replace Current Outfit")
Find the Inventory folder in Recent, highlight the folder name and right click, and select Replace Current Outfit.
The SL Viewer crashes instantly with no error messages.
When you relog back in, your avatar is now the KittyCat, and your prior avatar is removed except for vital parts for any SL avatar needed to form the alpha system body. This is normal.
It makes no difference whether you replace your outfit as a human, or other animal such as another cat.
This occurs in the SL ExtraFPS release viewer, and also in the Firestorm ExtraFPS viewer, see FIRE-35022
I have had one occasion when using the KC designed procedure for attaching a Kittycat avatar, when using a human avatar to start the transfer on a new region, there was no crash. Subsequent trials all crashed. So you should repeat this more than once to confirm this bug. Note these crashes have never occurred before, with prior viewers, based on 12 years and over 2000 cat avatar transfers via Replace Current Outfit. This is a new bug for me.

The chance of a crash or bugsplat seems to depend on the distance you are away from the kittycat you wish to attach to your avatar. If you stand within about 3 meters or closer to the cat, I crash after the Replace Current Outfit command. If I am 6 or more meters from the cat, I do not crash. The cat moves inworld to the human avatar location, which is visible and takes about 0.2 seconds. This extra delay time is preventing the crash behaviour.
Time to add some delays in the code for ExtraFPS. It seems to be executing in less time than older beta versions. This also explains why the Kittycat manager said a flying avatar does not crash - just distance effect again.

Hi Shamu077 Resident,
Would you be up for retesting this crash on this new build? https://github.com/secondlife/viewer/releases/tag/Second_Life_Release%2398473aa-ForeverFPS
Note this is yet to go through QA but we still appreciate any other issues you may find on it.

The crash was unable to be reproduced in the above build.

Atlas Linden - I tried the ForeverFPS build, and so far no crashes in 5 trials, at any distance. Thanks

Thanks for providing the cats, Shamu!
I've been able to reproduce the crash and it should be fixed in the next viewer release.

Attached is an excerpt of the crash log. I have full logs of SLV crash. Also FIRE-35022 has crash logs for ExtraFPS, and the NO crash from non-ExtraFPS beta.

Hi Shamu077,
Can you provide the location (Marketplace link or SLURL) on where we can obtain one of the Cat avatars you mention in your report?
Shamu077 Resident
Hi Atlas Linden I will send you a pair of live kittycats for you to test. You will need to rez a bowl of kibble for them, as they must eat as a breedable. You can get one box of Kibble/water at the main store. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/KittyCatS/141/8/26
That will last 2 weeks for a breeding pair, or 4 weeks if breeding is turned off.
