No Shared Media Sound
Phillip Beeswing
I have no sound on shared media on any viewer. I've done a complete clean reinstall of all the viewers, and did a rest and update on the audio drivers.

Hi Phillip,
The SecondLife.log file is missing from that zip file. I suspect it's because second life was running and it won't zip up a file that's in use. Sorry, my instructions were confusing about that.
Please log in around some media again, then log out. Then zip up the logs folder again and attach it to the support ticket.
Phillip Beeswing
Dan LindenI went back and reattached the log zip, and made sure the SecondLife.log was in the folder.

Hi Phillip,
To start off, we need the SecondLife logs from you. We may need some debug logs later, but let's start with the regular logs.
Please log into https://support.secondlife.com/ and click the "Submit a Support Case" in the right column, then choose “Technical Questions” and “Viewer Performance”. Reproduce the viewer failure (going to an area where the media is playing but cannot be heard) and then zip up your viewer logs folder and attach it to support ticket. There's an Attach a file link at the bottom.
This page tells you where to find the logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3
Please leave a comment here after you've uploaded the logs.
Thank you!

Hi Phillip,
Do you have a link to the shared media that you can't hear? Or a SLURL link to the location you expect the media to be playing?
Phillip Beeswing
Atlas Linden It is literally every shared media I come across. TVs, Videos played in clubs, and at wrestling matches. I can't hear from Youtube or any other media sight when it's played on a prim.

Hi Phillip,
While you have a shared media playing, right-click the Windows volume icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen and click Open volume mixer. You should see a few slplugin.exe processes there. Are any of them muted or have their volume set to 0?
Phillip Beeswing
Dan Linden Volume is maxed on all, and nothing is muted. Still no media sound.
Phillip Beeswing
I do hear audio streams, and in world sounds, but no shared media produces any sound.

Phillip Beeswing your shared media in SL is what now Chrome? I have discovered that while my shared media radios work fine in SL they no longer work in Firefox OR Edge, so I dont know what your main PC web browser is but could it be a security issue with your regular web browser?
Phillip Beeswing
Tech Robonaught I was using Brave which is derived from Chrome source codes with extra security built in, but I've installed Chrome too now. Still no audio on shared media.

Phillip Beeswing only other thing I can think of which is a common occurence is if the Shared media is https it wont play http streams ...
Phillip Beeswing
Tech Robonaught the shared media in question others can hear, but I can't.
