i have been having some issues with firestorm for quite some time now. when im walking and lift my fingers off the keys, my avatar continues to walk, going into walls and other people, or lags so bag she starts to glide along the pathway. im not too sure what to do about this, its very annoying, trying to walk with major amount of lag going on. it wasnt always like this. it was good smooth sailing when i returned the first month. but now it just sucks to even doing anything. i need to know what can i do bc im tired of not being able to enjoy the platform and feel secure that i wont walk into people or walls. i also have an issue with audio, it plays for like 15 seconds then shuts off, i can never enjoy in world media experiences due to this.

You can also try another viewer. Firestorm just crashes for me these days, after their PBR support. Alchemy and Kokua seems to work for me. I didn't try others. Those are both RLV viewers, too. I use Debian.
I have also seen that network RTT can have terrible effects, even if there are no packets lost. Of course, packet loss, is worse than anything else.

Firestorm allows regression to a previous viewer, try that. As in use the last viewer version you had

Hi IIID0LCEIII,
This sounds like either a network issue or a simulator issue.
Does this happen on any region or just specific regions?
When you are seeing this lag, open the Statistics window with ctrl+shift+1 and look at Ping Sim. What does that report?

Dan Linden, PBR maybe the issue

Dan Linden i will check it out when i log in. i got an email to try another viewer to see if its the issue with my connection or something else. the second life viewer that i was instructed to try is actually way worse with these issues, and as there is no error message, i had to do a recording to show what im experiencing. i will try the ctrl shift 1 when im on later n report back what it says.

Dan Linden i checked the ping sim during these issues n it goes up to 2/3k ms. i watched it on screen for a while and noticed when its fine no issues, its a low number. but it has spurts where it will jump up to over 3k ms every 15 seconds or so ~ while using the SL viewer.

IIID0LCEIII Resident: That 2/3k ms delay is the reason you're feeling lag.
Another thing to look at when you see these events is the Sim FPS. It should ideally be 45.0. If it's significantly lower, then the Ping Sim delay will likely be due to the Sim struggling to send data to you.
If the Sim is always a solid 45.0 FPS, then you have a network problem to debug.
Let us know what the Sim FPS looks like during the lag events.
