Problem uploading 2048px texture in beta grid

I am in the beta grid in the region "rumpus room 2048" I am trying to upload 2048 px textures with the latest viewer "Second Life Release 7.1.5.8472515256 (64bit)" but I always get that error, is it a normal error? Do you know when this capacity will be available in the main grid? I have several projects to finish and I don't know if it would be advisable to wait to be able to use this texture size

I do have one question: Why is LL trying to implement 2048 textures when it's already having so much problem with rezzing smaller ones? I can't believe how difficult it is to get avatars to rez... and it is ALWAYS because the textures haven't loaded yet or got bottlenecked in the load process.
First fix the texture handling process... then expand the textures. Right? No big deal though... this problem is only 20 years old. : P

Using the Materials Featurette viewer on the Test grid on one of the Rumpus Room regions.
Tried to upload a test 2K texture named "2048 test".
Got the following error: "Unable to upload 2048 test due to the following reasons: The server expects a different upload fee. Please try again later."
Tried this on the main grid on a RC BlueSteel region that has the server version that supports 2K texture uploads.
Got the same results.

Viewer version 7.1.6.8727446379 seems to have fixed this issue. I've just uploaded and aplied two 2048px textures on Rumpus 2048.
I was charged 10L$ a piece for uploading them, but I assume that is as intended for premium plus.

I'm marking this to follow. I may be mistaken, but I was under the impression that years ago LL declared the maximum upload size as 1024x1024. Has this been altered since then? I tried uploading a 2048 texture recently (by accident) and it automatically resized it to 1024.

I'm seeing the same error when trying to upload a 2048 texture with viewer 7.1.6.8666822239.
I'm premium plus so uploads of images should be free but the viewer wants to charge me 10 L$ and the server does not seem to accept that.

Ron Khondji I am also premium plus, but I have the same problem when logging in with other accounts that are not premium
