Scenario: a parcel with a mesh cave on it, linden water both outdoors and inside the cave. Outside I expect the sky to be reflected on the Linden sea, and that IS happening. Inside the cave I expect to NOT have the sky reflected in the water's surface, but it is behaving the same as if it was out in the open.
Enter reflection probes, my understanding is that they are supposed to be used in enclosed spaces for the purpose of making sure light outside isn't affecting what's in the enclosed space (sort of). It seems to work on the cave's inside walls, except for the water's surface which is unaffected by the probe.
I hope the attached images will make the case clear enough, they're shot with Midday (not Legacy) Environment settings, in the latest release of the SL Viewer. I've also tried it with other PBR-adapted sky settings, and only when it's dark enough to be night are the reflections as I'd expect in the cave, minus reflections which never show. Using other Water Settings is not an option, because not all of the parcel's water is in an enclosed space.
I hope that this can be resolved, or if there is something that I can do to fix this myself I'd be happy to learn how! I've reached out in different help groups without finding any help for this.
Thank you!
