Takes forever to rez mesh

Try to rez a mesh object, or a mesh avatar. Takes ruddy ages during which time the item is totally invisible and gives no indication the rezzing is in process. Prim objects rez almost instantly and even if the textures aren't visible... the shape is.

Does this happen on the
latest
Second Life viewer? Here is a link if you don't have it https://secondlife.com/downloadsI just want to make sure it's still happening before tracking it.

Jellyfish Hi Jellyfish. I don't use the Second Life Viewer so I can't say. But I've heard enough people complaining about this to consider it a VERY wide-spread issue. The issue is still happening in Firestorm... and if anything Firestorm has ramped up their texture and rezzing functions. (I was part of that project.)

Even with a fairly muscular gpu/cpu combo rezzing mesh items takes much longer than complex prim items. Hair is a prime example. This is unfortunate at least and some solution should be found to either warn the avatar or preferably remedy the problem.
