Translucent objects often turn opaque
needs info
Saga Vortex
I have had this issue for month that glass materials (BlinnPhong and PBR) keep flickering to opaque white in certain angles without any discernible systematic reason. I tried to adjust environment lighting, reflection probes, point lights etc. I tried SL viewer & Firestorm and both have the same problem. I provided a video to show the issue (recorded in Firestorm). This game is unplayable due to this issue and it used to work fine like half a year ago at the very least. The problem persists if I change my graphic settings to anything from Low to High (record shows low settings)

Hi Saga,
Please provide the complete About Second Life info when you run the SL viewer.
Saga Vortex
Dan Linden I am sorry but I thought I did? I copied that string into the little field while submitting and I thought it is just in the background or something?

Saga Vortex: I see your environment info for the Firestorm viewer but we need the Second Life viewer info. I see you're using Linux/Mesa drivers. We don't support that at this time but if you're seeing the issue on Windows we will investigate further.
If you intended to report this issue to the Firestorm viewer team, their bug reporting page is at https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/file_a_jira

You have not specified which GPU you have.

another example with a PBR glass material instead of BlinnPhong as above
Cynos3D Resident
Saga VortexOut of curiosity, how many light sources do you have in the scene of this video? There is a hard cap of 8 (including the sun and moon) on the number of lights that can be rendered on alpha blended materials at any one time. I am fairly certain this is the issue you are encountering in the 2nd video though i may be mistaken.
This could also be the cause of the issues you're seeing in the 1st video, though once again it would be good to know how many lights are present to diagnose the issue~
The relevant info on this can be found here https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits

Saga Vortex
Cynos3D Resident in the first video the camera is not moving and the bubbles aren't lights. The number of light sources in that area is also below 8. I don't see how it could be that.
