- Obtain a dae of a mesh body from Signature. This will have been exported out of Blender from Avastar plug in. ( This riged mesh does not crash the viewer on upload)
- Run said dae though Cathy Foils Mayastar plug in for Maya. (there's a process).
- Log into Second Life and in the build menu upload mesh.
- Select the file on your hard drive and click the ok button
- Watch as the view crashes and didn't even show the mesh in the preview.

Thank you for the report, Jessicaann!
We believe this crash is fixed in the glTF Mesh Import viewer, available on https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer.html . This is a project viewer and not rigorously tested but should work better for uploading models. Please let us know if you are able to upload successfully with that viewer.

Dan Linden, a few issues to address.
- Viewer crashes and does not give an error message.
2.Maya 2026.1 fixed the dae issue.
See release notes from Autodesk... https://help.autodesk.com/view/MAYAUL/2026/ENU/?guid=MAYA_RELEASENOTES_2026_1_RELEASE_NOTES_HTML
I can not attach the file but I did send the file to gltf@secondlife per
Geenz Linden's request in the Discord Content features channel.
The Firestorm team has been made awhere of this issue as well because it happend with thier viewer too.
LL can not do anything about this, However a error message on crash would be great.

Jessicaann Wrigglesworth: Thank you for sending that file! This still crashes on the glTF Mesh Import viewer. Issue tracked at https://github.com/secondlife/viewer/issues/4250

dae. export out of Maya 2025 is broken. The work around is to export out from Maya 2025 as a FBX for 2013 and then use Autodesks file converter to convert it from a FBX 2013 to a dae. for upload to SL . Here is the link to the Archived FBX converter free installer. https://aps.autodesk.com/developer/overview/fbx-converter-archives
This is an external issue and not a SL issue but LL should be made aware of this issue.
