Putting that little logo in there is a really good idea. Only trouble is that, since URLs are often long, it ends up on the line above the URL where it is easily missed.
My suggestion is simply to put it at the END of the URL instead of the beginning. I think that's where your eye lands anyway, and it's way more likely to be right there next to the URL instead of on another line. (Heck, if it's important enough, have it show up in both places.)

The valid-Link Logo is a nice thought, but as like the "Email from external" at some company email-systems, you somewhen not seeing them anymore. You "become blind for them".
As the message-system seems to be able to check, if Links are valid ...
... how about additional adding a warning sign to "maybe dangerous" Links, at the average Phishing sites?
I see the Phishing at 99% from the same services (herukumapp ... or how that pest is called, and some others) ... or trough the same services (Bitly).
If a new trick comes in at the Governance-Team trough the AbuseReports, them can adding the new Domain to the warn-list.
Also "just warning, not blocking" for the 1 on 1000 cases, the Link have a valid use.

Bambi Bubbles Not sure how that would work since users can set whatever color they want for links in their Preferences. The little logo is good though.

Linn Darkwatch If they added two colors to the viewer, one for hyperlinks (exists already) and a second for validated hyperlinks. The end user could choose any colors they like for either one.
A user choosing the same color for both would negate the value, but 'on their own head, be it'.
