Ability to mirror mesh / objects along any axis.

When you modify an object, scaling along the X, Y or Z axis allows for a minimum of 0.01m. I propose allowing negative scales, which would otherwise mirror an objects geometry.
Symmetry tools are standard in most 3D creation environments. Adding mirroring functionality would modernize Second Life’s in-world building tools and support both new and experienced creators.
To have this work fully, SecondLife would have to support both negative scales and flipping the physics mesh layer on the server.
Some use cases for this:
Creating symmetrical architecture/furniture.
Mirroring avatar attachments.
Adjusting mesh without requiring multiple uploads for each different mirror axis.
I've made a bit of a mock-up video which hopefully explains this feature request a LOT better!
(this displays stretching an object, as well as 'mirror' checkboxes for each axis)

This functionality existed back in 2015 as a bug but was not widely known public knowledge. Basically you could trick SL into thinking a mesh was a sculpted prim and then use the the Mirror and Inside-out functionality on mesh objects. The down side is that it turned the physical shape of the mesh into a torus. I have it noted down as maint-5634, but can't find the actual commit anymore.

Here's an additional clip which fully emphasises the usefulness of the suggestion!
Currently the kitchen in this skybox has burners on the left, and a sink on the right. It also has baked shadows and the back is missing geometry. (good!)
Attempting to rotate it 180° will never work (baked textures and missing back geometry!) but having mirror options would absolutely fix this desire to adjust existing mesh and fit everything together easier and with less headaches! (asymetrical shaped rooms and furniture, I'm looking at you!)

when you flip a mesh, you also flip it's surface normals, object normals, and face directions. As well as tangent normals. Flipping/Mirroring is more complicated than meet's the eye. Not impossible for SL, but also not as simple as a checkbox.
Try and mirror something in Blender by scale minus one :D
You will have to start editing your model, and UV maybe even slightly.

That's why we built a viewer with this functionality to make the demo video. To prove the concept was possible.
SL Feedback
Hello, and thank you for your feature request regarding the ability to mirror mesh/objects along any axis. This is indeed a valuable suggestion that could greatly enhance the in-world building tools for both new and experienced creators. Another resident brought up a similar idea in the past, and we are merging your comments to get to it faster. This issue was previously tracked under BUG-228709 in Second Life's previous bug tracking system. We have no estimate when it may be implemented, but please keep an eye on future updates. We appreciate your input and hope you continue to share your ideas to help improve Second Life. Thank you!
