Ability to rename a group

I have been in bussiness for over 17 years in sl with the same group, I would love to add the word "Rentals" to the end of the group name so it explains what the group is about and is easier to find, if we can rename AV's, surely we can rename groups? the only way to rename a group at the present is to create a new group, evict everyone from the old group then invite them to the new group.

Yes please, would very much like the ability to adjust my group name. Sometimes we pick group names quickly, be it for land or for communication, and then after a while wish we had named it something else or add/remove something in a rebrand. Building new groups to fix a name when you have 40+ members can be almost impossible.

We have a situation where I say PLEASE let people rename groups.
There's a couple of guys who tried to take over our group and claimed to be working with the founders. The founders publicly repudiated these claims. These guys couldn't take our group name but made a group with an almost identical name (British vs US spelling).
They've since backed off slightly and call themselves something different but they can't change their group name so we're two distinct identities. This is still causing confusion. They refuse to move to a different group because it's a bother ~ and they're sticks in the mud (to be polite). I would gladly pay a fee to LL so they could change their group name and stop causing confusion.

I'm also sympathetic to the potential for abuse. I'm not opposed to there being a cost, and/or a ticket being filed to disincentivize abuse. I'd rather have a relatively high fee (say $25) for the option to change a group name, than have no option at all.

Is there any news about this topic? Anything planned? Would love this function, as I'd like to add something more specific in my group. I founded it about 17 years ago and I would hate to abandon all my members and make a now one, just for the name...

Eagerly awaiting this feature!! When I tell you this will be one of the most useful tools they can give us. Especially if they find a way to clear out the old names.

I would also like this feature, since over time my staff group become sort of a land holding group, a lot of people are in it who just renting spots, or are roleplayers, and not actually staff, and i have a seperate group for real staff, and both of these groups should be renamed to better organise.

Details: I’m in SL since 2007… I never understood why it’’s not possible to change the name of a group.
For example in 2008 I created my Spiritual Art Gallery, and Spiritual Art Group to promote it and to share all the information about the events that took place there.
Now I own the Kondor Art Center, and I wanted to rename the group to Kondor Art Group.
Could you please tell me why I can’t do it ?
