Add styled text in Notecards

We can already embed landmarks, images, and other full-permissions assets within notecards, yet even the most simple formatting of text relies on access to third party tools to employ Unicode trickery (with spotty implementation across various third party viewers and operating systems).
I suggest the addition of some basic formatting, Bold, Italics, Indents, and making hyperlinks clickable (perhaps using the standard [<url> Link Text] employed in other places within the viewer.
Even Canny supports formatting of text. Why doesn't the single most common method of providing information and product instructions within SL?

Clickable links in the notecard

It would be very useful if the Notecard links were clickable. For example, in this image, I have two marketplace links, and if someone wants to access them, they need to copy the entire link and paste it into their browser. It would be much simpler if they could just click and be redirected to the mentioned page in the Notecard.

This would be a great improvement, as well as a read-only mode button for notecards that can be modified, to appear like a no mod notecard and prevent accidentally typing into it while searching for contents.

It would also be great if we could hover the cursor over an attached photo in a notecard and see it like we can now do in the inventory window using the image feature

Being able to use Markdown or some other markup language would be a great feature. It would be awesome if notecards handled tables and embedded images, but even basic text handling like bold, italics, lists, links, and headers would be an improvement to drag the notecards into the proper decade.

Bring Notecards into 2010 or better with hyperlinks, etc

Add some simple word processing tools, such as Bold, Italic, Emojis, align text, align paragraphs, include pictures, graphics, open links to Groups and SLurls or Landmarks

Notecards likely use some sort of markdown code already due to being able to embed other objects within the card. Really basic formatting has been needed for years and yet strangely has never been implemented even though relatively easy.
So yes Please! It would be nice to finally have a bit more options to format notecards in SL.

Text formatting would break many scripts that rely on notecards to be machine readable.
As Crush Cutie mentioned, Markdown is a better alternative. The way this could be implemented is the text editing and storage stays the same as it is now (just plain Unicode text) but when displayed in the viewer (i.e. in 'read' mode) the markdown is rendered.

It'd be great to be able to give out notecards with markdown. Would be great for RP sim's and just all in all better notecards.

Markdown was made for this.
