Allow moderators to mute sounds from individual residents

Building on the individual voice moderation option introduced in the recent update, I’d like to suggest a similar control for sounds. Give authorized parcel and estate moderators the ability to mute sounds coming from a specific resident, including gestures, dance attachments, music players, and other sound-emitting objects they own.
At venues, someone repeatedly playing loud or disruptive sounds can interrupt conversations, events, and everyone else’s experience. Staff should be able to address that individual without disabling sounds for everybody or immediately having to eject or ban them.
The restriction should prevent others within the managed area from hearing that resident’s sounds, including sounds from their attachments and rezzed objects. It should be separate from text and voice moderation, reversible, and limited to the parcel or estate where staff have permission to moderate.
The same idea behind muting someone who abuses voice should apply to someone who abuses sounds. Give staff a way to handle the disruption without taking the fun away from everyone else.

Thank you for the suggestion about giving parcel/estate moderators the ability to mute
sounds
from a specific resident (gestures, attachments, sound-emitting objects they own, etc.) without having to disable sounds for everyone or immediately eject/ban.We found this is a duplicate of an older report from Second Life’s previous bug tracking system (Jira):
BUG-232148
(“Access controls for sound blocking for visitors”). That earlier request covers the same core need—region/parcel-level controls to squelch an individual’s sounds to prevent disruption while keeping the venue usable for everyone else. We’re going to set your post to
Tracked
and associate it with BUG-232148
so all feedback stays consolidated in one place. While we don’t have an ETA to share, adding your details (like keeping it separate from voice/text moderation, making it reversible, and scoping it to the parcel/estate where staff have permission) is helpful context for review.SL Feedback
