Many people at the forums (and in world) would love to be able to outright block. When an ignored avatar (in world and in the forums) is blocked, they can still interact in unfavorable ways. Trolls should be limited, but the only thing limited is my ability to protect my privacy.

Agree! Also Block should work both ways (them from you and you from them) as the blocked avatar can still see you and "do things" to your avatar and you are unaware, because... they're blocked!
I'll be more specific - one blocked person was raping me (unconsented sex) in public as I lay on a lounge chair, totally unaware of his activity - it was only when I suspected him nearby (with Radar or People), I then unblocked and there he was, going on me like a horse on a bag of oatmeal!
This has been confirmed to happen with friends, where regardless of group chat warnings, (which are a good pace to decide if you still want to message in that group, knowing blocked persons can read you), they still roam around you and you can't even see them, not even as a grey bean man!
So please, make "Block" work both ways: they stop existing for you, and YOU stop existing for THEM!

LL does not care about their users safety - every other feedback post is about safety and LL is silent in each and every one of them. They do not care - they enjoy it being the wild west even if many thousands of people have been harmed due to the lax security LL has - they do not want to spend the money as why the Abuse Department has turned into a long running joke in the community.
Imagine if any other social media platform allowed what SL does..

As a moderator of various group chats and regions, I don't want this feature.
I could see people blocking moderators in order to skirt by rules. This leads to people reporting others, and due to the inability to share log files due to the Terms of Service, moderators will be unable to properly moderate.
In addition, if someone wants to talk bad about me, they can simply block me, talk bad about me, unblock me, and then I would have no chance to defend myself because I have no idea what they sent, or if they sent it at all.
People shouldn't have control over my experience on Second Life.

Bluesky did blocks the right way. They set a new standard that LL should be learning form and emulating. Someone I blocked should not be able to see my messages in a group chat and then react to them in ways I can't see.

This would ensure anyone you blocked would then be aware that you blocked them. This would allow you control over their SL experience which, AFAIK, LL would never allow. Think of it in the opposite way. Someone could block/ignore YOU and could say whatever they would like in open chat and you would never know.

Cuddles Supply You don't know me, nor do you have any reason to block me, but I could block you. You would have no idea that I had and wouldn't see or hear me with this idea. I could say or do all kinds of things while standing right next to you and you'd never know. A griefer's paradise.
Your blocking ends when it impacts another's SL.

Rowan More Too much worry about trolling and geiefing. That will be policed in other ways. If I block someone, I want them out of my Secondlife, period. My desire to be quit of someone trumps their desire to not be.
As for someone I blocked sh*t talking, well why would I care? If 3rd parties listen to a griefer (it's pretty obvious who they are), they aren't people I want to know.
How about this? An client side option. Like it is in FS. I can decide if I want to see local from blocked users or not. But thr client side option stops
all

Cuddles Supply I agree that payments and group invites should be blocked if a user is blocked. It makes no sense that they can still pay you after you blocked them, and send group invites. Bots send group invites too after you blocked them, and you have to keep "reject all group invites" on to avoid it. I think Rowan and you missed each others' points in this, the point is not whether the blocked user can see you and what you write, but these exploits that never have been dealt with.

AlettaMondragon Resident. The original request was for anyone you blocked to automatically be blocked from seeing or hearing you or interacting at all. That is the part i disagree with. You should not be able to block anyone's ability to see or hear you.
The sending money part, i do agree with although not sure if that is doable. A lot of those invites are sent from objects that keep changing. As far as I know, money is the only thing a blocked avatar can send that would get through your block.

Rowan Amore I'm on the exact same opinion. I didn't think much about the request itself, the comments are more elaborate. The OP wrote "they can still interact in unfavorable ways", but didn't specify those. I feel like it's just one more iteration on the big pile of "we want more privacy in public" from some people who don't really understand the concept of "public".

Plus, when a person is ignored they can also see YOUR messages in a group chat, but you can't see theirs. That's a huge security risk, it should go both ways.

Ebirin Resident If it's something personal, you need to control your own experience, in this case that whoever you blocked can't do harm to you. If it is someone that lurks in groups and harassing their members when they say something in the group chat (there are too many of those), the owner or management of the group should deal with it, especially since such people will harass others too, not only you.
