Bones/Physics for hair (Skinned Mesh Physics)

I was playing around modding a single player game from last decade the other day and was amazed to see some well known hairs from SL are there too (probably older assets and such), but they (the modders) made the same hair even better using HDT-SMP which I don't know what is, but it looks great.
It moves when I jump, flies when wind hits my character, swiiiiishes when I swuuush. Better than what we have here, and better than flexyprims. And it broke my game and crashed my PC, but that's not the point, the point is we are sandbox-y, while they are just injecting dlls and getting prettier. Rally the troops, we must win this!

Interesting!...
I also have no idea what HDT-SMP stands for, but I've noticed that the game you mention uses the free and open source Bullet Physics engine.
This is a fortunate choice, since it is the
previous
physics engine popularly used in OpenSimulator, in lieu of Havok (a too-expensive commercial product). When it was introduced, it was orders of magnitude better than what OpenSimulator started with, and finally brought vehicles to OpenSimulator as well — a decade ago. With this, I mean that there
might
be more similarities than differences, regarding the interfacing of one thing with the other; although, to be honest, none of the TPVs implemented a "Havok replacement" yet, so maybe his is easy enough to do at the server
level, but not at the viewer
level. I have no idea!Anyway, the full source code for the plugin is here: https://github.com/aers/hdtSMP64
May this inspire LL's developers 😉

Some sort of Felxi Mesh option, perhaps done during upload, a path of Felxi chosen and applied to points during upload, perhaps by highlighting the points or lines of the mesh, and once uploaded build window settings that control the smoothness and bounce and wind impact and gravity and so on.

SL Feedback is there any progress on this one? It does make a lot of sense!

Gwyneth Llewelyn SL Feedback (sadly) is a bot, it just shuffles and tags posts seconds after they're made and... that's it.
