example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chvyf3ep7Tg&list=PLNPYTDXvFN23qyLKmpzrUhFE87J2Qm0Be&index=5
on a media prim it ends up with "Your browser can't play this video"
If you need some more examples, have a look at my Pandora / Avatar playlist test : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WteAGTMCeug&list=PLUDtnWZ2sWu8YrtUCGkDcwpWOh1rU7oyf&index=3
And such a bug is a BLOCKING problem as i have around 1 000 playlists forecasted in the same way for my WizzBox environment. No need for PBR on my side (same as most users), knowing too that i do with prims things than mesh can't do ...
Said simply: I just basically need SL working fine ... and the related question as for such a basical feature as YouTube on a media prim = WHEN ? Not maybe one day an engineer will have a look at it.
... or should I leave SL for another platform after close to 20 years on it because SL is dead ? (some other of my friends creators already left)
Sorry to say loudly what many think: in spite of adding features, first solve existing bugs.

Both examples do seem to work for me on MoaP (in the US), on Alchemy/Linux and Megapahit/Linux.
I've programmed a TV myself, and ran into the same issue in a few cases:
* You cannot live stream, or play recorded live streams (until they're transcoded), nor play any DRM content (YT movies and such).
* YT has various flags that prevent playback via MoaP. A common one is country blocking. Age restrictions or embedding restrictions also apply.
* YT is on the warpath against anyone not playing their vids on their UI/their apps/their browser.
When doing our music club we run into some of those, though one of the more common ones is people on FS basically being unable to see MoaP because they either have autoplay disabled, the URL filter enabled or anything else. Sometimes the dullahan media plugin crashes too.
As for the YT restrictions/limitations, there are ways around that if you have your own (re-)streaming server somewhere. LL cannot legally provide that, as it's highly specific to YT (and/or other services) and also illegal in many jurisdictions due to legal frameworks around circumventing protections.
They _could_ possibly re-add the restricted codecs. _IF_ they can figure out the licensing nonsense around them.

I have a feeling that this is a problem with YouTube wanting to recognize a person as being logged in or not, to access their content now.
As a YouTube creator, I see that many of their policies are now focusing on paying the creators, figuring out exactly what who is watching, when and how.
They are likely setting up blockades against you being able to do exactly what you want to do, watch their content in an anonymous unlocated browser.
It ain't the wild west anymore, and it's going to be a lot less wild in the coming days.
I also think you're creating a false dichotomy / false dilemma panic, to say that, because media on a prim is not working for youtube, SL is dead, LOL.
Check your avatar's appearance in your in-world mirror and watch its lips and expressions move as you say that out loud, wearing user-created mesh clothing in a shared creator-designed lighting environment...
Your problem might be with certain advertisers that are trying to load up before content is made available. If the viewer window cannot be identified, the commercial content will not be served, and the requested content will never load.
Just sayin'.

Chatelaine Derryth Personally i agree on the fact that the problem could be around advertising and access control due to monetization, knowing that it seems that Google deeply tightened controls those latest months (not to say that maybe they even added an AI control level). It may also be due to the way SL is managing screen resolution. When i see how slow internal web browser is (certainly the slowest on earth) i guess there is more than one problem in SL's web integration ...
On my side, as i just display videos respecting all creators rights and take no money on YouTube side, I am 100% compliant with YouTube TOS. I just need YouTube videos to work fine on SL ...
On LL side, technically what works on the same computer on any external browser should also work on the SL viewer that is simply browsing. Otherwise better consider that MOAP is unusable and back to stone age with YouTube not even working.
