A way to organize joined groups would be so handy.
Alphabetical order only goes so far, especially when you're in lots of groups and a lot of them use special characters so it breaks everything out of order. I find it quite chaotic to look through my full groups list for the tag I need because of this.
Having the ability to create folders to seperate shopping groups from RP groups for example would make it easier to find what someone needs, because there'd be less names to read at a glance in a folder.

Would be great to allow for grouping / categorization of groups - not so much an issue when you have just a handful of groups, but when you have >20 or 30 - categorizing would make it easier to manage them. Could be helpful for CSRs of multiple groups as well.
The categories should be user defined and it should be easy to move a group from one category to another. The default option would be that the group isn't categorized.

This would come in to handy! As a premium plus member, I currently am in over 100 groups. Some tags I use frequently, some never. Around Christmas with all the advents, this could really make like easier, too.

Since I'm always playing the toggle-groups game I would love for there to be a column in the groups view that would show whether or not it cost money to join it. At least this way it would be easier to know which ones I can safely leave without loosing linden dollars in the process.

A table view for groups would be quite useful, yes.

* SLURL of group-deeded land
* Last date of owner login
* Last notice date
* Number of accounts active in group chat in last 24 hours
* Group Moderator online now (Y/N)
* Current group title/role
* Am I a moderator?
* Can I chat?
* Can I send notices?

Or just make the ones that it costs to join look different in the list, e.g., by using a different font or color for them. If a column is used, let it show how much it costs to join the group.

I love this idea! If I could put all my performer/venue groups in one folder, favorite stores in another, etc it would save so much time and also help keep me from unintentionally messaging the wrong group. I currently have most group notices turned off, but this way I could sort those that I want to keep up with manually.

Over the years, I've learned that a group name often bears little resemblance to the place the group is for (conversation-contacts-groups). My partner often drags me around to various events and I join the venue group, the performer group, and this group and that group. Sometimes it's a personal invitation by the performer, or a free group gift, or whatnot. At the end of the weekend, I just want to leave all the groups I joined over the weekend. A search of groups give me my 109 groups alphabetically, except for those leading with punctuation characters.
A search that included the date joined would make it much easier to delete the brand new groups I really have no interest in, and the old groups that I don't remember who they even are for.
To make it even easier to leave would be a "leave this group" check box next to the name so I could leave en masse.
