Lock an Object on Avatar

Sometimes I click "wear" instead of "add". Then, I lose half of the objects on that particular bone attachment. I want to be able to lock an object to my avatar so I don't accidentally remove my Reborn body.

As anything rigged is always going to appear in that location of intent, the best thing to do until they do come up with locking for Second Life viewer is to change the attachment point of your body.
Your body should be attached to avatar centre, but you could change it, it is very rare that other items are attached to that same point, and if they are and they are rigged you can make the choice where to reattach them, once you reattach once that is the new default state.
I wear an attachment at my mouth that never comes off, so you could attach your body to your mouth, or somewhere more obscure.
If something I wear takes something off, it is often the case that they left it attach to right hand by default....so I then change the attachment point of that item to somewhere they should have set it in the first place, to even it out a bit :)

It's possible with RLV, obviously not in the SL Viewer, but it's not a perfect solution. Having protected outfit folders or single items that would act quite like an rlv=nodetach command without having to use RLV would be nice.

Great suggestion, I'm all for this.

As a tribute band player, we often have several costume changes in one show. This would be the answer to fast, accurate changes. Great suggestion.

Ami ThibedeauDon't the outfits that we already have available make that a breeze?

Jennifer Boyle: Lag in front of an audience can result in a nude or partially nude avatar. Yes, there are ways to do this (adding a cover-up double-walled ball), but locking would give another option.

Thanks for taking the time to write this up — accidentally clicking “Wear” instead of “Add” and having key attachments (like a body) get replaced is a very real pain point.
We found that your request matches an older report from Second Life’s previous bug tracking system, and we’re marking this as tracked under
BUG-231197
. That earlier report covers the same core need: the ability to lock worn attachments/layers (and potentially HUDs)
so they can’t be unintentionally replaced by another item using the same attachment point or layer slot.We don’t have an ETA to share, but tracking it under the existing issue helps keep all related feedback and use-cases together. If you have any extra details (viewer/version, whether this happens most often via double-click wear, Outfit folder actions, etc.), feel free to add them — they can help when the team reviews the request.
