Have a built-in LOD fader (shader?) to improve pop-in on object LODs - I believe I've seen this method in various game engines but here's a 1-min video that roughly explains what I'm thinking of: https://youtu.be/HIagn2cpq-o
There are a few different techniques to achieving this and I'll leave that preference open, but even a very basic crossfade between LODs would be a massive improvement over the current snapping LODs seen here: https://i.gyazo.com/b7307115165336a3fda6daafde7666d0.mp4
This might also alleviate some of the ugliness that abused LODs have (the ones that appear to be like 5 triangles in a random format from tanking the generated LOD values).
