I'm suggesting a checkbox under Prefs>Move & View (or appropriate location) that says "Disable Camera Controls RESET buttons."

I'm talking about the little buttons in the middle of the two 4-way arrow Orbit and Move controls. I almost NEVER use those, but I OFTEN accidentally click the darn thing, usually after painstakingly setting up a shot for a photo or video. The tradeoff would be more than worth it.
