Passwords and MFA on macOS

Wishing the viewer used the system password autofill API instead of its own password cache. The real kicker though is MFA does not autofill on Mac and requires me to open the Keychain and hand copy the TOTP code by hand. It discourages use of MFA.

This is an issue beyond just macOS. I use Bitwarden and have to open that and copy the TOTP code from there and paste it into the viewer dialog, making sure I wait until a few seconds after the TOTP updates so it doesn't expire between copying and pasting. 😓 Unfortunately, I don't think there's a good solution for this problem currently, but I would still encourage folks to enable MFA on their accounts. The minor irritation of having to enter the TOTP code from time to time is preferable to the major panic of having your account compromised and/or stolen, IMHO.

Spiffy Voxel I don’t use Windows so I couldn’t speak to the experience there. But yes, the fewer impediments to using high security (on all OSes) the more likely people will use high security.
