Please change the tier system so every next step is not the double
Ikaros Alpha
For years people have created extra premium accounts just to be able to add 512m2 and later 1024m2 of land holding rights, because they were already paying for 16,384m2 and the next step would have been to double that amount.
It would be nice if we could avoid creating all those 'mules' and just buy an extra 1024m2 once we're at 1/4 sim already.

I've always felt that pro rata payment of only tier used (or donated to a Land Group should be charged for only the days its used. If LL is gearing toward a fee based income instead of land sales and income, perhaps they should prove it and charge pro rata, only for tier used on each day it is used.
AND this could be an increasingly discounted rate based on total tier consumed (taken off LL's Expenses list)
What do you think of this?

Adding a little bit more land would be nice... if it didn't incur such a high cost when it exceeds the current tier level by a small amount. The very large jumps in levels after 4096 sqm are particularly off-putting.

I did some math to kind of see how much of a lift this might be to do. It looks (as of the current tier values) that there is a piecewise economy of scale based on your level of tier. 512m2 is the most expense per Sq.M. and it decreases in price per Sq.M. as you acquire more land.
Perhaps something LL could consider is either, as you said, more graduated levels, or to use the piecewise values to give a market value down to some number divisible by 16 as the smallest parcel one can ever own is 16m2.
Obviously there would still be some minimums. I'd say (to save on processing charges) between 16m2-512m2, there is a flat rate of $4 USD.
But beyond that, it could be similar to what we have today except that it's charged based on the most land you held in the month... Say for instance, you grab 512m2 of land when you're holding 49152m2 (3/4 Sim) of land. Under current circumstances, you'd pay the full tier for 65535m2 of land. Under this new model, you'd only pay for the 49664m2 of Land which based on rough calculations would be something closer to ~$142.75 USD instead of the $166 USD asked for the Full Sim Tier.
I think it would motivate individuals to purchase those more oddly sized parcels as they wouldn't be taking on the burden of the entire next level of tier. And we'd likely have less instances of land cutting taking place.

I believe a more graduated tier system would help get rid of all those odd parcels that were created when someone chopped off part of their parcel to avoid going into the next tier.

This would also help communities if group members would like to donate 512 or 1024 more but cannot afford bigger steps.
