Prevent Group Notice Text from Being Cut Off
tracked
The Rascal
Group notices currently allow more text to be entered than will actually display once posted, so the end of longer notices gets silently truncated.
This suggestion is for LL to add a character limit (or live character counter) on the notice creation window that matches the actual display limit so that way creators know up front when their text will be cut off, rather than discovering it after the notice goes out.

Thanks for taking the time to report this—you're describing the same issue where the Group Notice editor allows more text than the notice will actually publish, causing the end of the message to be silently truncated.
We found an earlier report of this in Second Life’s previous bug tracking system and will track it there:
BUG-233436
. Your report will be marked as a duplicate and set to Tracked
so all comments and impact stay consolidated in one place. We don’t have an ETA for a fix, but we agree that aligning the input limit with the actual posted/display limit (or adding a live character counter) would prevent notices from being cut off unexpectedly. Please keep an eye on future viewer/server updates, and thanks again for helping improve Second Life.
