Reconsider the keyboard shortcuts in the viewer - Part 1: Content Upload

Although point & click interfaces are generally popular, a well-considered set of keyboards shortcuts allows us to do things more quickly. The official Second Life viewer and, by extension, the third-party viewers, has a set of shortcuts that seem to be geared mostly towards controlling the avatar and the environment and less towards facilitating content creation. For instance, we are only given one shortcut for content upload (Ctrl+U for uploading a single texture) and no shortcut for bulk uploading of textures, sounds, animations, mesh models, or linksets.
Furthermore, some shortcuts that would make sense to be used for these actions are already taken:
Ctrl+Shift+U would be a good option for bulk uploading of textures, but it's connected to switching to the default sunrise EEP;
Ctrl+S would probably be a good option for uploading sounds, but it's connected to resyncing animations and to moving backwards (see below);
Ctrl+A, Ctrl+W, Ctrl+S, Ctrl+D are all connected to avatar movement in the "WASD" paradigm, so Ctrl+A can't be used for uploading animations;
Ctrl+M brings up the map.
In general, we're left with very few options as to what keyboard shortcuts we can use for content. I suggest the following:
- A rethink of what shortcuts are taken up by less-used functions pertaining to avatar movement, environmental manipulation, and social-related menus;
- A rethink of the texture upload facility: why not do away with the single upload facility and replace it with the bulk one?
- Creation of a sensible set of keyboard shortcuts to facilitate content upload and creation, taking care to avoid conflicts with other apps people use as part of their SL use case (such as Gyazo).

Hello, and thank you for your feature request.
Incoming suggestions are reviewed in the order they are received by a team of Lindens with diverse areas of expertise. We consider a number of factors: Is this change possible? Will it increase lag? Will it break existing content? Is it likely that the number of residents using this feature will justify the time to develop it? This wiki page further describes the reasoning we use: Feature Requests
