So i understand That This subject has been brought up more then 10 times and i feel its being ignored or shut down or not understanding the importance to it from linden labs. I also understand that it REQS you to go in the DATA base, and be tested etc. But! the fact that yal + the group limits But wont take the importance to this matter due it being lack of experience or Not running a club or Corporation or role play Community etc. We Really really! REALLYYYYY need more then 10 Role Limits in the Groups.Am a 2007 player and there is NO way! in Gods green earth this has not been brought up to Linden labs attention in the past and requested. So before u shut this Down Again....... please am asking of you to please tell us in deep detail Why Linden labs keeps shutting this down over n over n over n over. We just want 20 Roles a extra 10 Role limit =20 roles and were Set and yal will never see this pop up again from anyone. and yes... that means me to XD.

Obviously more roles is more better, but it might help LL if you give examples of how you use roles, or specific things that you cant do because there are not enough roles.
For example, do you need more roles so you can split up abilities in a more granular way, or so that you can create more tags to identify people in role playing scenarios?

Charlotte Holmeforth Why Expanding the Group Role Limit in Second Life Matters
Currently, Second Life groups are limited to just 10 distinct roles, which can be quite restrictive for larger or more complex communities—like urban sims with lots of different needs. Here’s why expanding that limit from 10 to 20 roles would be a game-changer—and why everyone should support it.
- Enhancing Community Organization
By doubling the number of available roles, communities can create much more specialized and clearly defined positions. This means you can have roles like "Event Coordinator," "Security Lead," "DJ," or "Store Manager" without running out of role slots. More roles mean more clarity and a better-managed group overall.
- Tailoring Experiences for All Members
With more roles, each member of the community can have a role that truly fits their contribution and status. This isn't just about hierarchy—it's about making sure everyone feels recognized and valued. More roles mean that niche roles, like "Friend Rez" or "Event Temp Rezzer," can exist without having to merge or compromise.
- Boosting Second Life’s Flexibility and Appeal
More flexible role limits make Second Life more adaptable to different types of communities, from role-playing groups to business-oriented sims. It’s a quality-of-life improvement that makes managing large or complex groups less of a headache and more of a pleasure.
- A Strong Case for the Community to Say "Yes"
By advocating for an increase from 10 to 20 roles, we’re not just asking for a technical change—we’re asking for a way to enrich everyone’s experience. More roles mean more creativity, more structure, and a more vibrant community life. That’s why it’s in everyone’s best interest to vote in favor of increasing the role limit.
In other words, supporting this change is a vote for a richer, more organized, and more inclusive Second Life experience for everyone.

I feel it's worth mentioning, way back in the day groups used to only have two roles, members and admins.

since "SL Feedback" is a bot and that "Tracked" might mean any time frame, I can take a guess on the why: spaghetti code.
Most early code in any project is a hardcoded proof of concept, and sometimes that slips into production and, later on when it becomes clear that things need new features and ranges, it's a godsbedamned nightmare to change after years and years of overlaying new code, dependencies, undocumented features that might crash hard, stack overflow, break queries and whatnot.
It would take at least one dev, a good one, with nothing else to do for a couple of weeks, to go throught most everything searching for problems and fixing it along the way.
OR you could just add GPT/Copilot to Visual Studio and ask it to check the whole server side and client side code. I mean, it WILL fail miserably, but it's wildly entertaining to watch.

Isabella Cinder my thing is if they can change the group limit they can 100% change the Group Role limit or create a program that overlays it like a patch

jessica111 Clary I wholeheartedly agree with you and I support this idea. I was just being facetious =)

I remember a couple of years ago when I wanted to join a roleplay community and I had to join at least 4 different groups to get the information and access that was relevant to my character and I think there was 7 to 10 groups in total, the only reason for this was that the rp community needed so many different roles and a single group wasn't enough.
As I don't have a premium account and was maxed out on groups this made me give up on the RP.
Raising the role limit to 20 won't solve the issue for that particular RP community but it's definitely a step in the right direction.
More group roles is definitely needed!

I agree with this. It can be frustrating when a land has run out of group role space and has to have additional groups to cover their needs, but those groups are not able to rezzed in, or worse yet when the land itself allows rezzing, but you rez your items under a group that is not directly associated with the land and your things end up being returned because of this. If groups had more roles then maybe this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

MollyMercantile Resident thats 100% my point As this is a "NEED" Not just a want. And anyone that Owns Land+ pay rent or a Sim knows, its Extremely Hard to maintain a good Effective Staff group due to the limitations of the group Role amount Personally i feel 25 would do perfect.problem solved! never to see this ever pop up on your Feed, "just please Give us 25 Role Limit so thats extra 15 Problem Solved End of story big cheers for Linden labs, make residents happy, give us the 25 n call it a DAY \p/
