Scheduled & Repeatable Group Notices

I'd love to request a feature that would be a huge quality-of-life improvement for many of us in the Second Life community: the ability to schedule group notices in advance and set up repeatable group notices for recurring events.
This would be incredibly helpful not only for creators, but also for event organizers, venue owners, and anyone managing active communities. Many of us balance our Second Life activities with full-time jobs, families, and other real-life responsibilities. Being able to draft and schedule a group notice to send out later, at a specific date and time, would ensure we don’t miss promoting important releases, events, or updates simply because we're not online at the right moment.
Here’s how this feature would help:
🔔 Consistency: Notices could go out exactly when intended, even if the sender isn’t logged in.
⏰ Efficiency: No more setting alarms or reminders just to log in and send a notice at a specific time.
🔁 Repeatable Events: Weekly DJs, markets, or game nights could have notices automatically go out on the same day/time each week.
🧠 Less Stress: More time to focus on building, hosting, and enjoying SL... without worrying about last-minute reminders.
This would streamline operations for businesses and communities of all sizes and help us all stay better connected and organized.
If anyone else would find this helpful, feel free to show support. Hopefully, it’s something the LL team could consider adding in future updates!

I like the idea of being able to schedule notices in advance; not so sure about making them repeat. For that, I'd rather see the suggestion about being able to Sticky notices implemented. Less spam, but information (like posts about group rules or standing events) can just stay available.

This sounds like exactly the kind of group where I and a lot of people I know would disable notifications, thereby defeating the purpose of being able to send them.

No thank you, the last thing I need is more spam. What you suggest wiil cause people to leave a group.
Spruce Evergreen
steph Arnott I respect your opinion. Keep in mind, you do have to ability to turn group notices & group chat off in your group settings. That way you can always look manually whenever you prefer instead.
steph Arnott
Spruce Evergreen, why should I, you are the spammer not 99% of groups.

I appreciate all of the comments & feedback.
Many of the suggestions mentioned are already being utilized by many second life users, myself included. Smartbots (cost is a concern for many), Discord, etc.
I still hold to the opinion that at the very least scheduled notices would be very helpful for those with busy lives who can’t log on quickly.
AlettaMondragon, to address your comment about using AI to type this, I have absolutely no problem in letting anyone know I utilized ChatGPT to make my post more organized and concise. I tend to be a rambler and write too much. So being able to type up everything personally, and then throwing it in and asking it to be made more concise has been a very helpful tool for myself (and I’m sure many others!) :) It still features everything I wrote personally just less blabbering ;)

As several people have said already, this just encourages spam, and robot-driven at that.
I send two repeat notices every week, promoting my Events on Faerun, but as the theme changes every week the content varies week by week and automation wouldn't help.
Avoiding the kind of scheduling proposed ensures that that the information is personalised to the people attending and allows for further personalising by promoting the different DJs used on different occasions over the weeks. I even add a post-signature URL pointing to a YouTube item, usually a song, that characterises the theme of the week's Event. People tell me they love this feature!

Spruce Evergreen Just like you used AI to write your suggestion, you can use a bot inworld to send notices in your group. That is only one of several options, though.
I wouldn't call this a quality of life improvement in any way.
The primary function of groups in SL is to manage lands. They weren't designed for mass communication, and as such when there are many people in a group, the communication features tend to fail. Group IMs and notices won't be delivered to all members. Especially if there are a lot of notices in the group, it might increase the failure rate. Of course any member can check notices in the group manually, but that defeats the purpose of this "improvement". And if you're offline when a group notice goes out, you won't receive a notification of it, most likely. Many people also disable notices in large groups with many notices because it just gets in the way and if you're offline, they count against the number of offline IMs you can receive.
A simple solution is to use a subscriber device. Many people use them. Relatively easy to use, no need to mess with a group and it does what you need. Just make sure you ASK your customers, guests, etc if they want to subscribe, DO NOT add them to a spam list just because they visited your place or bought your product.
Another option is a Discord server. You can have all the features there that you described. There are some SL to Discord services too, but you can simply just share the invitation link with your visitors or customers and set up the automated notices and many other things on your server, and it will be more reliable than a group in SL.
