Show IM status icons

I would like to see an IM status icon for every Group IM or private IM together with the number of unread messages, located next to the existing "Notifications" icon in the top right corner of the viewer, just like Firestorm has.
Why do I need this?
I frequently toggle the Conversations window with CTRL+T and want to keep track of the status of specific conversations even if the Conversations window is closed.
How can I currently keep track of a conversation status?
1) There is an IM toast notification for every IM. I rarely read or even notice them, especially when there are multiple conversations going at the same time.
2) There is a flashing "Chat" button. This button tells me that at least one of my 15 active group chats and IMs has new messages. That doesn't really help me.
3) I could open the Conversations window to check if there are new messages in a specific conversation. This is also a bad option since it interrupts my flow. I don't want to open and close the window all of the time to check if there is a new message in a specific conversation.
Trying to use the official viewer instead of Firestorm I feel overwhelmed in regards of ongoing conversations.

Title: Show number of unread messages for every icon in Conversations
Details: Inside of the Conversations window there is an icon for every ongoing group IM or private IM. Currently, when there are unread messages, the icon just flashes. I would like to see the number of unread messages attached to each icon.
Why would that be useful to me?
Often there are multiple group and private chats going on at the same time. Many group chats have a lower priority to me and I do not want to check them every time there is a new unread message. But I don't know how many unread messages there are, so I feel compelled to check them all of the time for every new message which overwhelms me. I'd like to be able to not check on a chat unless it has maybe 10 or 20 unread messages, then read them all at the same time.
I believe it would help me to be less overwhelmed by the ongoing conversations.
