Let's be honest and blunt: microtransactions were 54% of PC gaming revenue in 2024. That plus the raise of betting apps show a clear sign where the money is going. You know money, that thing any company needs to... exist.
On the other hand, we have the side of consumers. You know, that thing that holds said money. And on this side of the field we have this https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_25_831 regulatory guideline that, undoubtedly, will be ignored by 99% of content sellers.
If gachas are back (or even if they aren't) could you, in the name of our savior (Goku, obviously), make a Linden Labs' version of the selling machines to enforce:
1) proper winning chances
2) compliance with regulatory commissions
3) prevent abuse and addictive behavior
I, personally, am immune to gachas. This does not affect me at all. What does is going back to see friends burning more money than they could trying to fish for a skin that wasn't even in rotation. That kills communities in the long run.
