Turn off showing joined groups in profiles by default

I don't know why we even have this honestly. free advertisement for groups or "look who I affiliate with?" but either away the reason I want to see this is when a spammer comes to a chat everyone responds and now the spammer can look at profiles and join all their groups and repeat. if that can't be changed perhaps it could be limited to not see other users group list until a week or two old? it's not perfect as a spammer could very well find groups other ways, but I think it could help. the more effort they have to put in the less likely it will be so easy for it to spread quickly.

This won't completely prevent scammers from targeting high-traffic groups through the search menu or from familiarizing themselves with popular stores and communities. I understand the issue of scammers using groups to target residents.
To address this, I suggest a new group settings feature for group owners and officers:
"Script Agent (Bot) Accounts Not Allowed to Join Group"
This option would block most suspicious alt accounts unless they are actively used by a real person. Alternatively, a "Whitelist" could allow specific bot accounts that are approved by the group owner.
Additionally, if there are already existing bots in the group, there should be an icon or symbol next to members in the group list to distinguish between "Residents" and "Bots." This would help group owners easily filter and remove suspicious accounts using the "Eject" or "Ban" options.
What do you think of this idea? Any thoughts?

KiraYoichi any ideas could help. The majority are not tagged as scripted agents so that filter might not do much, but something to confirm someones a real person is a great idea, maybe with a question or captcha. ideally I honestly just wish most places would have a kiosk to join similar to how builders brewery is done. getting rid of the group join "out in the wild" since most join groups initially at shops or events it would get rid of bots quite quickly by forcing them to have to manually teleport to each shop/kiosk.

groups are a good tool to see other people's interests, and can give a indication how to start a talk when there are shared interests.
Spammers just join big groups to spam, mostly not against individual users.

Alwin Alcott Agreed. I have found many new groups that way. Same with Picks and locations.
However, a blanket opt-out might be useful for those that want to hide their groups rather than doing it 1 by 1.

Alwin I can agree with that even though I see picks as a more personal way to see interest. only with some groups encompassing a larger variety of stores all in one like for events etc. but even if we had groups still listed, if shops just use a kiosk or click here to join vs the open enrollment via search it would help greatly and people could still join via teleporting to each place.
