Undo feature

Sorely missing from the prim edit window is an undo feature, which should be multiple levels, much like is common in word processors.
How many times have you moved, reoriented, reshaped, retextured, or changed a prim or linked prims and then realized that you made an error and wanted to be able to just click UNDO, so you can start again? With me, it happens often!

Ctrl-z does not undo texture changes. That would be a very welcome additional function.

Already exists as a keyboard shortcut;
CTRL-Z Undo
CTRL-Y Redo (undo the last Undo)
Sterling Ronzoni
Ideally, the new undo button would be pared with a redo button, as well.

Already exists - Ctrl Z with the linkset or linked prim selected
Sterling Ronzoni
CarterWolff Resident,
If so, it should also be available by a button on the Edit window.
How many levels can it undo?
Gwyneth Llewelyn
Sterling Ronzoni less than you need 😂

Sterling Ronzoni idk man the UI is cluttered enough already - ctrl z is pretty universal, we don't need more buttons.

CarterWolff Resident, Opinion noted but with disagreement.

CarterWolff Resident Perhaps it could be an option in the build settings, to use one or the other, or both. 'Use menu for undo/redo' OR 'Use Hotkeys' or 'Use Both'
Keep the UI to user preference, and still include both. I would Never use a menu undo, and wouldn't want to see it, for the reason you stated. They've cluttered it up enough. But there could be a way in preferences maybe.

Absolutely!

If LL could implement a nice feature of Blender it would be great. That is, as you make modifications to an object they are listed. Until those modifications are applied, they can be deleted or even changed. There is also a ctl-Z undo feature. I'm sure that's a major mod for them, and most builders seem to be using blender or some other 3D modeling software now, so it may not be cost effective for them.

Great improvement- if possible.
Gwyneth Llewelyn
Yman Juran the problem is that 'if' hehe

Control +Z will undo some changes. Size, location, rotation.
Christi Maeterlinck
Heavens, yes. Perhaps this hasn't been implemented yet because it would place too much strain on the system? But I'd have favoured it as a greater priority than PBR.
Gwyneth Llewelyn
Christi Maeterlinck there used to be an experimental 'versioning' system on OpenSimulator, which sort of allowed all in-world content to be rolled back on demand, item by item. I have no idea how it was implemented, but it's clear that at least from the perspective of the viewer,
it worked
.Granted, there
is
a strain on the servers
, as well as on the additional storage required... but the latter is cheap :)SL Feedback
