Update bones and add extra bones for more dynamic movement.

I think that it would be in an improvement if the bones/armature of the linden body was updated in a way to allow more dynamics and allow more fluidity in movement. I feel as though the way it is rigged, atm, is okay but it could be better improved. For example, you can make the bones more flexible at the hips and joints, so that the areas you bend at has a more realistic action to it. Like in this video by "Lewis Animation"
I would, also, like to ask if there is any way to improve physics around jiggly areas, for example, to give the butt area a bone for each buttocks, allow for individual jiggle., when you parent the two butt bones (one at a time/individually) to the thigh bone in "keep offset", that way the butt bone is not jiggling from the center, but individually. Couple this with the allowance of jiggle physics and spring bones certain areas, you will get more natural moment to the body

More bones would be nice. For wings, tail(s), head wings, horns(?), extra arms, half animals like centaurs and spider girls, armpits/shoulders. I remember reading from the makers of DOA Beach Volleyball that the armpits were the hardest things to make and work with. That was funny.

Not only hip but armpit and shoulder area as well. Posing an avatar for quality photos is a pain ATM due to boning constraints in hip flexor and shoulders. Mesh deformation can be worst in some creators bodies so costs factor in. As long as lag does not factor into dance animations at high traffic clubs.

I just watched the video, and it truly is a much needed improvement to the many aspects of realism and aesthetics of the modern avatar. Would that, however, demand a whole new revolution of mesh bodies in the market? Or would it be an add-on for the bodies in the mainstream? I surely hope it would be the latter.
Petite Doll
Shamonne Resident I don't think so, creators can take existing bodies and update them with the new bones and newer types of mesh.
Shamonne Resident
Petite Doll Yes, kind of like a shape layer to be worn underneath the mesh body, instead of a whole new mesh body. Legacy and LaraX overtook TMP (The Mesh Project) and Maitreya, and I hope it won't be like that.
By the way, I like your concept of individual bones for each butt. I think the same way about the breasts since you're talking about twin body areas.

I would suggest a new bones system, Period. BVH is super dated, And its really not as easy to rig for beginners compared to newer formats.
Petite Doll
Molly Starlight Unfortunately, Second life is filled with those that do not want change, resistant to change or want change but when that change comes complain about it. I did it this way so that they can relook at the armature, for one, and for two try to update it in a way that keeps everyone happy and minimize pushback.
