Update Map Service to use 'actual' screenshots.

It's been 21 years.
Our map tile images are made from the lowest-poly interpretations of the most rudimentary understanding of the objects, textures, and materials that make up our world.
A lovingly created mesh island structure, made of mesh pieces jutting out of the waters, looks like SIX HEXAGONS according to the map.
It's time to update the system by which these map tile images are generated. Past time.
It can't understand a mesh. It couldn't understand a sculpt, and it can't even really understand a circle for heaven's sake.
Our world looks better than this, and deserves better than this.

We have something like this in OpenSim called Warp3D. Something similar would work I think. Just enforcing this as I’d like to see it also.

I agree this would be a big improvement - SL should feel as much like Google maps as possible. Here is a thought… what if someone could build us an entirely new map service, as a contract?
Cloud Python
So daily real time rendering screen shots of 27,745 regions...

Cloud Python I was curious so I did some maths:
If we didn't count rezzing time, it would take 7min42seconds, assuming it was rendering at 60 FPS... though, it would need to rezz stuff... and to do one update a day, it would have to do it 3.1s... Hmm... so rendering won't be hard, rezzing stuff will be... Though that would depend on, how many objects are skipped for being too small, and some regions are quite empty...
This does assume there's only one map update server and we want one update a day.
