Update the Minimum Requirements Page

Update this page:-
I think it's safe to say in the PBR era that running a computer with 4GB RAM is no longer feasible. The minimum should be 8 with 16 recommended.
Likewise, the graphics section should probably recommend that the user has a computer with a dedicated GPU. Not just the opengl version.

Four GB of ram isn't enough for most modern Operating systems, much less something as memory intensive as SL. Todays OSs need at least 8GB to be what I consider to be useful. Second Life on my system is using almost 2GB of ram and I'm just standing in a room. When second life first came out most computers didnt' have access to 2gb of ram much less 4gb.
Time to update the specs.

One thing more to add on that page is that, using a VPN (of course a paid one to have a decent throughput), Second Life works perfectly with a computer connected to a 4G phone bridge. Among other things it makes SIM crossing work fine as otherwise it often fails.
PS: There are plenty of areas in the world where such an internet connection is the only solution or works better than land line. So .. not to lose users, it is better to help them be configured correctly to enjoy using Second Life comfortably.

Integrated graphics works fine so they should just update which models would work rather than removing it. Integrated GPUs aren't that weak anymore since a couple of gens. 60 fps on alchemy viewer pbr with shadows turned off on an i7 11th gen in a handheld pc

Honestly it has been needed to be updated for quite a while, but Linden Lab actually should be doing a bit of research into what GPU, CPU, Storage, and Networking requirements actually are. That will take time for them to do because it is so sorely out of date at this point, and it really isn't going to be a simple task at all given the wide range of hardware that runs PBR well and some newer hardware combinations not running it as well as it should.
The point of minimum requirements though is to provide information to the average user on what should be the absolute baseline of hardware that is capable of running the software. Recommended requirements should be similar but they should be the current minimum hardware required to get every ounce of performance from the software using every option set to its highest levels. With those requirements there will be outliers, or combinations that technically should run the software that don't or ones that shouldn't be capable but somehow are, but they should be as accurate as possible.
Because of the purpose of documenting the minimum or recommended requirements I can't agree with Crexon Resident about only listing hardware that is currently available as new since accuracy in those details is important, otherwise you risk alienating current users for whom it could very well cause undue stress and expense to attempt to meet those requirements.
To drive the point home as to why these requirements are important my rig is capable of running PBR just fine with Windows 10 on a 1st Gen i7 970 with 18GB DDR3 RAM and an NVidia GTX 1070. Other than the fact that I built it myself, my rig isn't anything special. It doesn't have anything brand spanking new or even currently available outside of second-hand purchases in it either, though I bought all of the parts brand new at the time of purchase. While I have been looking at building a completely new one right now I just can't afford to do so, but for now the one I have works and still runs most things just fine, including SL. As an interesting note here I actually noticed an increase in performance in SL with a PBR veiwer over a non-PBR viewer on my rig likely due to the ability of PBR viewers to use more of the system resources than the non-PBR counterparts. That said, the experience of others may vary.

I am surprised they have not updated this. lol

I believe it should be updated to include min/rec on actual hardware such as Min Graphics Nvidia GTX 1650 or something like it compared what is is now which is meaningless to most people.
It was mention in the townhall that purchases for a bunch of mid-range/lower end machines to do further testing on so hopefully that leads into updating this page.
I also think it should only include currently retail available products, not older 2nd hand products. Example being GTX 1080, which I have and runs PBR well, but is only available 2nd hand. Going to Nvidia.com the oldest gen they are still offering for sale is 20 and 16 series products(as of this post). Doing this gives non computer people a much clearer goal for what they should be looking for on a PC for SL in 2024.

Yeah...the recommended won't run PBR viewers well at all either. 8 GB is not even really enough right now to the point where we've seen users having total system crashes due to out of memory errors.

i agree with this i tell a lot of people similar things when they complain about lag and such and most of them have no gpu at all just integrated graphics so it would be nice to be able to link a page to people so i don't have to explain it every time
