Upload directly to Specified Inventory Folder
tracked
Bugs Larnia
When we upload something it always goes into the "default" folder for that type (Textures for images, scripts for scripts, etc.). After that you have to drag it to the folder relevant to your inventory (assuming you have some structure there :)). Especially for bulk uploads, this can be a bit of a hassle.
When uploading, would it not be possible to allow uploading directly to a specified inventory folder you can choose on upload so that your uploads end up where you need them directly? Alternatively, adding an upload/bulk upload option to the context menu for inventory folders would make that even easier, UI-wise.

Alternatively, (if we're trying to avoid UI clutter), maybe (bulk) uploading to the folder currently highlighted/selected in the inventory might also be a way to go.

This has been on my wish list for a LOOOOOONG time, especially since going premium plus and doing large batches of images at once. Being able to choose a folder IN the batch upload window, or adding a new folder for it to go to from there would be extraordinarily useful!
It would also be GREAT if when doing these sorts of bulk uploads the stealing of the focus to the inventory window was suspended (i do not want to look at every image in inventory as it uploads, tyvm). I hate being held hostage until my large batches are done before i can do anything at all without my cursor being stollen away.
SL Feedback
Merged in a post from Sasy Scarborough:
Title: Upload Destination Folder/s Options - at moment of upload
Details: When uploading items, the ability to choose the destination for that particular item, whether it be an already created folder in inventory, or the ability to create a folder at the time, much like when saving anything and directing it to your computer.
While you can currently decide that all textures go to _____ and all mesh goes to _____ that means that every upload goes to those places until changed. Each upload may have very different needs, this would make inventory management for creators much more manageable.

That would be very helpful, no doubt. I often load items, textures and sounds for them, all of which go into different parts of my inventory. Sometimes I forget to put it all in one folder during the building process, and I have a hard time finding the right part in my inventory afterwards.
So specifying a specific folder to load would help a lot, even for newbies who are still not very familiar with SL.

Reinforcing my +1 to this feature request. Right-clicking on a specific folder in Inventory to get the menu with an added option to “Upload to this folder” would be the most user-friendly implementation of this feature imo.

Just in case: You can change 'default' upload folders, go to inventory, right click a folder, select 'use as default for' and there would be options for chosing this folder as an upload destination.

Andrey Kleshchev True. I assumed they knew about this but wanted to change the destination more frequently, at upload time.

Kore Jardberg This, indeed. Having a different standard is good, but often I need to bulk upload textures into a specific folder for that specific upload.
