We need a ignore-Mode, something inbetween getting Messages and Blocking!
Cole Tendandes
Okay, so here in Second Life we basically only have two options when it comes to messages. Either you get messages from someone or you block them completely, doesn’t matter if they’re on your friends list or not
What we really need is something in between! Like how it works on Discord for example. There, you can just ignore people, even your friends. Everything still works the same, but once you set them on ignore-mode, you stop getting popups, sounds, flashing alerts or any of that stuff. You still get their messages, but you won’t even notice until you actually open the chat and look
Total peace and quiet until you decide to deal with it! And the best part? They never even know they’ve been on ignore

that sound too good to be true, I am all in for this. It would be a perfect solution

Yes, this would PERFECT. Most of my contact list realizes that I don't want to chat every time I am logged in and they totally respect my boundaries. There are a few that are needing a virtual smack upside the head, though. (:P Grrrr..) Having a "stealth ignore" option would be an excellent solution. And I would not have to smack anyone. I don't waaaaanna smack anyone lol

Busy mode may be what you're looking for. If you set yourself to Busy mode, you still get messages but zero notifications. The caveat is that if someone sends you something and you're Busy, the item disappears into the ether and they have to send it again.

Caelan Whimsy Busy mode is great...except you can't shop on the MP, receive payments, etc. Sometimes, I want radio silence from some or all of my friends, but don't want to block them or unfriend them, and still want to receive notecards or other items if they send them. I just don't always want to talk.

DragonLady Exactly and this feature would work great.
